No nose tackle. No guys in the 320 range except Carson. Guys over 300 are Freshmen (meaning still soft)

I get you but weight does not always equal push which is more what I think we want on third and one

Crowder is at 295! If he puts any more muscle on that frame we won't be able to find his head.

The WOW's! for me on that roster:

Jasom Croom - bigger than most of our listed tight ends!

Dontavius Blair - really slimmed down and hopefully is in playing shape now

Coleman Thomas - big ol' boy!

Jordan Williams - he will be a real threat at DT with his speed, strength, weight, and experience

Evan Berry - almost 200 lbs and playing corner? Watch out.

It wasn't that long ago that the best DT in the SEC might have been LSU's Glen Dorsey and he was right at 6'2 and 285. If you are some combination of strong/quick/smart with technique, that's plenty big enough, I believe.

Two yrs ago, as a freshman, Saulsberry had 5 tackles vs. Bama and I would venture to say he's stronger now.

Not saying smaller DTs can't be great players. Auburn played small at DT last year. But, that doesn't stop an SEC offensive line (averaging 315 or so) in short yardage.

Darwin Walker? Probably the strongest DT that ever played for us ... 6'3, 281.

I am really not too worried about size of our DL.

Thots ...

Gaulden up 8# = Thanks! This kid had my favorite tape of all the last class. His stats and film scream playmaker. But at 165 it was hard to see him out there. Would love to see him around 185 next season. Kids a baller.

Lane dropped some I think = Speed? Man, I hope this is his Montario Hardesty coming out season. We need it.

Croom 6-5, 243 = Holy TE Batman. If this kid could block, then watch out as a TE. If he's fast enough, he should be able to pancake CBs in press cover. Beastly.

Foreman & Sutton at 190 = Man, those boys could be good.

Reeves-Maybin 6-1 230. Gained a bunch I think. Good SEC LB size. Pumped to see this kid play D in 2014!

Moseley 370! What the Heck? RS or Transfer due to lack of discipline? Pure muscle? ... I wish.

Looks like a lot of weight gain across the board almost. If this is gym weight as it appears, then we could be a much more physical team this year. We need some enforcers in the defensive backfield. The rookies and McNeil are beefed up. I hope we can finally lay some wood back there this year.

I like 90% of your post ... but Mosley we have to cut him a little slack right now, as he might have come in heavy and this would be prime time for running and conditioning, but, jeez Louise, I think he has a broken leg with a titanium pin recently put in or something like that, so ... we should chill.

Not trashing him. I just honestly don't know. A 370# 18yr old. That's huge and he doesn't look to have a frame like McKenzie for example. Thought he needed to be around 330 to play effectively?
