Updates from Alabama Weekend Visitors

Wright said he enjoyed the visit but imo seems headed to the barn

LV says UT. That would mean that he is seriously playing AU. However, after all the shi& we've been through, I'm thinking that we are being played. Hope I'm rong.

I like what Jordan Williams said about coming in and helping us finish games. It's on next season.

I thought Gabe Wrights quote about always having a good time in Knoxville had a little promise to it... it would sure help our D-line if he came on next year

Thanks to a Volnation member who would rather flush his tickets down the toilet then sell them to a Bama fan, I got a good look at most of the visiting recruits from where I sat. Kerbyson was there too. Seeing us so obviously outmanned up front on both sides of the ball on the field with Richardson, Wright, and Clear on the sideline in street clothes, along with Kerbyson, Posey, Crowder, and Carson, the difference between where we are and where we can be in two or three years seemed pretty clear to me. We'll have our Julio Jones among the freshmen already out there. The guys listed above are the difference makers we need.

That might have possibly meant something if he didn't clearly state the the current #1 team in the nation is his current leader.

"Auburn is still leading but it's definitely a close margin," Wright said. "It's just going to be a long hard process on which school to choose. I'm glad I have a few more months to decide."

We have the opportunity to be coached by Chuck Smith to thank for keeping us in this kid's mind. Well, that and playing time.

Guys you are all missing something I think is not addressed enough and it concerns me. Where is our X Factor? Florida had Tebow, Bama had Ingram, Auburn has Newton. Every championship caliber team has the one player who rises above and wills his team to victory. No one in this or last years recruiting class is giving me that perception of being our Wow factor. I hate to say it but I am afraid this year is a sign of what we might expect over the next 3-4 years, a middle of the pack SEC team destined for bowls in towns like Shreveport. I hope I am wrong but there is a player with edge we are missing and I am not hung up on stars and rivals rankings either but I watch the highlight tapes, I look at the stats, none of these guys are scaring LSU, FLorida, Auburn, or Alabama anytime soon.

Naming Auburn #1 at this point does not render his comment about enjoying Knoxville meaningless. Did you stop reading his quote after "leading," or are you simply trolling?

Someone will emerge as the consistent difference maker....Perhaps next year with a consistent passing attack and a stronger OL that POOLE will be that guy... Run for 1500 yards or so. beyond next year, who knows Dooley, I believe is trying to recreate TN similar to AL. Power Running team, great defensive and take shots down the field when the opportunity presents. it will not be flashy or consistently 3 and 4 wide sets, but a solid plan to win. JIMO.

Worley may not start over Bray! We are talking about a pro style offense with the prototypical 6'6 QB. Neither of them seems to be the next big thing in SEC quarterback history. I am still very hopefully, in my mind Bray is better and has huge upside but I am not ready to hand him the Heisman.

Hunter is a receiver, I don't care if he is the next coming of Julio Jones no receiver has won a national title for a team on his own.

Bryce Brown leaving is gonna hurt this team more then any of us want to admit.

I am truly hopefully I am completely wrong about Bray or Worley, but like I said stats aside the will to lead and the Tee Martin, Peyton Manning, Casey Clausen Qb is not on campus right now.

As far as Poole and the running backs, I fear for all their health if we don't get some big nasty's up front that aren't three star 2A fotball studs. This is SEC football and Neyland Stadium, in two years the front seven Florida will have will laugh at who Tennessee is putting on the field.

Maybe I am pulling my emergency ripcord a little soon but rebuild or not this is just ugly, mentally defeated football we are watching each week.

This statement is WAY over-the-top. Our O-line isn't bad enough to get people injured this year, and it's mostly a group of freshmen and sophomores. Our O-line has good talent, but it is exceptionally young, and I predicted that they would get their butts handed to them this year. However, they will be a little better next year, and they should be good to very good for their junior and senior seasons.

Justin Hunter

Personally, I see Justin Hunter as just the latest of a long line of players being way overhyped by UT fans. He's a decent player. He will probably end up being a good player in future years - maybe even very good. However, I don't see this guy being a superstar.

Uneducated TROLL..JMHO,

I don't think this guy could understand another endless explanation of what is happening with this team...It's painfully obvious what going on with our 63 scholarship players to 98% of the fans on this site, he is in the 2% I guess...

Our OL in 2 years should be rivals the line of the late 90's, Very Big and hopefully Very Powerful. It should be Smach mouth time. I expect Crowder, Stone/Schofield and Fulton to be built like Granite at 320lb. In the past we will big players but as a collective body were not very strong as proven at the NFL combines. In appears that Dooley has hired a real GURU for S&C.

Bryce Brown failed to stand up to his Father and family. He will never been a leader on a football team anywhere... Reply to post #41. Sorry...

Justin Hunter has the talent & potential to be one of the best if not the best WR to come through UT. He is going to put on 10-15 more pounds before next season & he will learn to be way more physical. Coach Baggett, G. Jones, & Joey Kent are'nt hyping this kid up for no reason & I'm pretty sure Baggett knows exactly what he is talking about considering he has coached up alot of great WR's in his career.
