Urban Meyer at it again

His sense of entitlement is a bit ridiculous, he can't understand why anyone would go anywhere but Florida so it must be cause by another program recruiting unfairly when it occurs.

I can assure you that he wouldn't be running his mouth talking about academics if he were recruiting against Stanford, Vanderbilt, or Ivy League schools... and he wouldn't have the room to complain at all if he was at a school that didn't have a top ten recruiting class dropped on their doorstep every year.

This is almost as absurd as Mack Brown complaining about the unfair recruiting practices of Mizzou.

I'd love to hear what the Old Ball Coach would say(and the Gator fans) if he was still at Florida and Urban was coaching Mississippi State or a similar school and whining like this.

That was Fulmer. Should we start pulling out the Zookers numbers?

Fulmer didn''t play (since quite awhile ago).

And besides, do you mean to tell me that since you have Kiffin that means all prior wins and losses are wiped out? I'm just thinking of the current disparate state of affairs.

Yeah, I am sure he is trembling or paranoid with another Top 10 class.......he is just firing back when coaches take jabs at UF. Like someone said, I'm sure he just points to his NC trophies and Heisman as a recruiting tool or better yet as a big can of "shut the hell up". :furious3:

No, all prior wins and losses count including:
UT 24 - UF 0
UT 40 - UF 0
UT 20 - FL 0
UT 38 - UF 7
UT 45 - UF 3

What I am saying is how does 59-20 relate to the topic of this thread?

I could be remembering wrong, but isn't the Graduation data based on players that graduated 8 years ago?

nm, I found it and it is based on 1998-2001. Urby can claim no personal kudos for that number.

2008 NCAA Division I Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Data - NCAA.org

Team Stats
2008 Graduation Success Rates
Florida 89%
Miami 81%
Florida St 80%
Tennessee 78%
Mississippi St 78%
Auburn 77%
Alabama 77%
South Carolina 76%
Georgia 70%
LSU 69%
Arkansas 68%
Tennessee 52%
LSU 51%
Oklahoma 44%
Texas 42%
Georgia 41%

he's also raised the average players gpa from 2.38 upon his arrival to 2.86 this spring.

If Meyer wins another title this year, he'll likely be heading to Notre Dame, his dream job, when they fire the incompetent Charlie Weis. ND will make Urban an offer he can't refuse, with so much money on the table, he'll be richer than beyond his wildest imagination!!

Righto. And the Gators would have been national champions in 2006 if Zook had stuck around.

and then the Gators will hire an out of work John Gruden?

Zook was a good (not great) recruiter, but couldn't coach a lick--no way UF would have won the title with him coaching the team.

So - what you're saying is... ever since Meyer got there he went to all of his players' teachers and got them to pass them and give them good grades/take it easy on them in the process to bump up their GPAs and graduation rates so he could use that as a recruiting tool. Nice.
