Herbie was very quick to condemn us for the Schiano fiasco...where is his outrage (or any prominent ESPN personality)? I guess he's going to save that outrage for players like Gaulden....

I work at a local network affiliate in Columbus (I worked at a local Knoxville affiliate for 4 years after graduating from UT). Thus far my crew at the football complex see's no signs of their being a news conference at 5:30. The rumor came from another newsroom we work with. I'll keep you all posted. It's worth noting the atmosphere in the newsroom right now is pretty similar to when Tressell was fired.

I certainly hope he's done. I personally can't stand the guy as a person. I couldn't care less that he was the coach of a rival program. Hell I respect Saban, he doesn't pretend to be something he isn't. Urban is a fraud, he puts on a nice show but he would drop kick a nun for a cheeseburger if he thought no one was looking.

Ryan Day will serve as acting head football coach during the investigation. We are focused on supporting our players and on getting to the truth as expeditiously as possible.

Gene and I agree that being on leave during this inquiry will facilitate its completion. This allows the team to conduct training camp with minimal distraction. I eagerly look forward to the resolution of this matter.
