Urban Meyer issues at UF

I realize that the most immature fans will simply take delight in negative reporting of a coach who regularly beat you, but if this is what you have to hang your hat on at the end of the day its pretty weak.

Really, nothing remarkable in these stories.

I think it's less about us hanging any hats than it is about seeing a db finally being outed. You're concentrating on the wrong "end".

Chaney making less than I thought....I kinda think they bumped him up a little more this winter when the others left. But here was the numbers from last August

In August, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney's contract was extended through 2013. He made $525,000 in 2011 and is scheduled to make $550,000 in 2012 and $600,000 in 2013.

It's hard to build up a healthy dose of hatred for Meyer at this point....two national titles in six years? Can't be too mad about that.

I hope Mushamp rights the ship, I'd rather put a beatdown on Florida when they're at their best.

You hope he rights the ship? A strange thing for a Vol to say.

Personally, I hope that they go down the tubes and we stomp the living crap out of them for the next twenty years.

But maybe that's just me. I'm sure most Vol fans agree with you, and hope for a quick Florida turnaround.

Poor ole gators.........done hired the wrong coach. A real pity. Hopefully they get that all fixed up here in the next 8-10 years.

No no, we must hope for a quick turnaround. We must NOT hope that they get their comeuppance. That would be un-vol.

You're crying, aren't you? Right now, at your PC? Blubbering your heart out?

Meyer did the same thing that Spurrier did, which was mail in the last season and back off of recruiting for the last two years, leaving the team depleted. .

I don't remember Spurrier having a secret club, a little Circle Jerk Of Trust with his 'special' players.

That's one difference.

But other than that, you're right. They both realized the UFg is NOT the place a person wants to stay for life.

It must be pretty bad down there for TWO national championship icons to so badly want to leave.

No one, and I mean no one, could accuse you of exaggerating.

The gators will go after Petrino. He fits in with their morals. And they know they got a dud in muskie. Might grab him now; might wait until November. But they will get him. Dude can coach!

Throwing stones. Glass houses. Etc.

What? Dooley is a boy scout. Tennessee is built upon high principles and honor. Florida people don't even know their own parents. Bunch of yankees moved to the south. They could hire Petrino and that fanbase would praise the hire. If Tennessee tried to hire him, the religious right would come unglued. You know it is true.

I, along with the rest of the SEC, hopes Dooley stays in Knoxville for a LONG time.

Fulmer Cup anyone?

Since they started awarding points for arrests for the Fulmer Cup, UT has actually accumulated fewer points than UF, UGA, and USC in the SEC East.

I also read an article a few years back that tallied points for UT and UGA for the 2005 offseason (the arrest-filled one for UT that resulted in the creation of the Fulmer Cup). According to that author, UGA actually would have scored more points for arrests than UT.

That said, I agree that neither school really has much room to throw stones. (Unless they are thrown squarely at Auburn who has the most Fulmer Cup points all time and pulled off the "Switzer Slam" by winning the Fulmer Cup, BCS Title, and Heisman in the same year)

Just like we all hope Muschump stays at Florida for a LONG time. Lame duck coaches are always welcomed by rival fans. I just hope ours is gone soon enough.

Not sure where your limited budget comment comes from.

Spurrier "mailed in" 10-2 in which FL was the #2 team going into the last regular season game of the year? Dayumm he's better than I ever imagined.

And as I recall Spurrier was never known as a tireless recruiter. He benefited from state kids and got the most out of them.

Meyer def mailed in that last season. He realized without Tebow it was over and his heart "condition" got worse watching Cam at Auburn wishing for what could have been.
