Urban Meyer under investigation.

Just here to say Coach Urban Meyer has always been a scum bag.
I don’t like the guy either but I don’t think he’s a scum bag. I think he valued winning over rules and maybe sometimes his values and that got him into trouble. A guy I used to work for knew a kid that was dying from cancer. Meyer literally called that kid every single day for months, had players visit him in the hospital, sent him all kinds of free stuff, and more. Again, Meyer called that kid every single day until the kid passed away. I don’t like Meyer either but that doesn’t seem like something a scumbag would do. Maybe I’m wrong.

That is great to hear that he did something kind and not for the publicity. However, he has proven quite a bit that he wants to win at all costs and overlooks misconduct from players and staff, including going so far as to involve his wife in covering up physical abuse by his staff members.

Oh I agree with that. I think he very much struggled with the desire to win vs his values. And I think that’s what led to his health issues. When your actions don’t line up with how you know you should be living it eats at you. I know that from personal experience.

Is there a past situation that equates to the idea of cutting players based on something such as vaccinated vs unvaccinated. I’m not following how this is a legal thing to do. Just curious if there are similar instances.
Especially when both can catch and spread equally, and be required to miss games with a positive test.

Thanks! I will tell my wife that she is wrong.
Tell her.

HIPAA is a federal law pertaining to healthcare orgs--i.e. Drs, hospitals, insurance organizations, etc. It doesn't effect non-healthcare orgs or individuals with big mouths.

I don't think he can go away. It's not who he is. He needs to be talked about. He needs to feel special. He needs to be paid attention to. He will go down in flames before going away.

If that is what was truly said…..he definitely needs a lesson in leadership!! A true leader is responsible for everything his subordinates do or fail to do and accepts responsibility for organizational failures.

This is a prime example of why most of college coaches fail in the NFL. They don’t understand that you have to treat grown men like grown men.

Yep. And couldn't happen to a more deserving person. Personally, I am really enjoying watching him (finally) reap what he has sown.

Go Vols.

It's coming, wait and see, to college. You'll start to see young men making money from their talent in college wanting to be treated as more than Jimmy or Joe also.

Coaches like Woody and Bear wouldn't last long now. Hell, coaches like Lombardi wouldn't last long. Times change, player attitudes have changed in college and in pros but NIL and the portal will make coaches MUCH less powerful in their locker room.

Dude has no business coaching in the NFL.

He needs to go back to college or retire for good.
