Long story short, the article says CBJ is fake. That he is great at making you think he is all-in 100% but was playing everyone the whole time.

I love Butch Jones and I've definitely bought in and I'm drinking the Lyle Allen Jones Kool-aid...but does anyone think Coach Jones isn't serious about his committment to UT and staying here at what he called a "destination position?" Or that he would ever leave if he was offered the right amount?

Edit: forgot the link to the article! Sorry about that...

Column: Butch Jones commitment to Cincy was pretense

I think most coaches could also have a good career in politics. I do think Jones will be here for a long time if he's successful.

Wow. Might want to delete this thread.

This article is talking about his commitment to UC and clearly states that UT is a destination job.

Brian Kelly sucks too, right?

Let me go ahead ad write your article for next year......

Tommy Tubberville is a snake and used UC to get back to the big time.

The guy says it's not a "jilted lover" issue and then goes on a long diatribe that is exactly a sore loser piece. UT is a significantly better job than UC. If CBJ is sucessful here, and I think he will be, he will leverage that for more money not necessarily move to another school. That's the trend in coaching right now - if you are a top tier program -and we are (despite the recent records) - you don't go to a another top program - you extort the school you're at for more money. See Bama, Ok State, Lousiville, etc.

Article reeks of butthurt. Cincinnati is a stepping stone job. Kelly bolted for ND, Jones would've been insane to stay when UT offered.

starting out with "not a jilted lover" is akin to "don't mean to be racist, but", "don't mean to offend, but", "I'm not gonna lie to you, but.."

What coach in their right mind would think of Cincy as a "Dream Job"? I promise you if Tubbs has enough success there and another big boy comes calling he will bolt too. Reality is unpleasant at times.

Sounds like sour grapes from a Cinci beat writer/fan. Every coach that works at a lower tier school like that is looking to advance to a big-time program (Peterson at Boise was the line exception for many years). CBJ is driven to win a NC. Even if he went undefeated he was never going to do that at Cinci.

Iirc he did attend Cinci's bowl game last year. That's more the Brian Kelly did.

Anyway, I don't think CBJ will leave for another college job. His exit will be NFL or fired (I would say retire but coaches don't get to that anymore)

This is a year old and certainly old news.

Recruits read this board and we are in the middle of battles for the most talented HS players in this country.

Posting something like this that is outdated, inaccurate, and sour grapes by a clown with Cincy newspaper could cause other people to question our coaches loyalty. The very loyalty he is promising HS recruits.

Posting something like this is borderline moronic!
