That would be interesting. After the game, Butch could tell Tubberville, "I would have beaten you with your team too."

USA today is predicting us to go to a bowl unlike ESPN.
Bowl projections: Alabama replaces Georgia in BCS title game

Good prediction, but I can't seem to find our 6th win. We current have 3. Vandy is horrible, so that should be win # 4. Kentucky is bad, so that should be win #5.

But Alabama is un-defeated and playing well. Missouri is un-defeated. Auburn is 4 -1. South Carolina is vunerable but certainly not a game that we will be favored in.

I don't see a 6th win. Our best chance is against Missouri, Auburn or South Carolina though....

after the attendance we had last year, the sugar bowl committee might burn down the superdome if the sugar bowl were forced to take florida again.

I think we get at least one of those three. wouldn't be surprised if we get two. We will really get to see what Missouri has this weekend even though it will be a depleted UGA team.:peace2:

It's the BCS system....they're never forced to take you unless you're the SEC champ and not playing in the national title

I think we might match up best with Auburn of those three.

i know there is a "draft order" so to speak, but because florida finished 3rd in the bcs standings last season, a bcs bowl was forced to take them.

now, you are correct. it didn't have to be the sugar bowl. but, it had to be one of those bowls.

Mobile QB's ALWAYS give us trouble though....I don't know what it is, but they always seem to gash us.

I bet my money we take two out of three. SC and MO, plus Vandy and UK. That gives us 7. Plus the bowl win. That gives us 8 on the year.

Missouri's Franklin and USC's Shaw are both very mobile QB's as well (maybe even more than Auburn's QB)

Why would the Sugar Bowl take the third highest SEC team?

They'll take whoever's highest ranked in the polls that week.

or are you calling the loser of the SEC championship the 2nd highest team in standings? Because that's not how the bowls look at their selections.

Correct. That rule's there to help keep those teams from being passed in favor of a generally bigger name team (pretty much a similar reason to why there's that rule for only two teams max from each conference).

But also don't forget year before last; a #13 VT getting in (as well as that year's #11 Michigan) seemed to suggest that ticket sales rule all if you're not in the automatic zone and there's a better option available.

Though I wonder if they can take a lower ranked team (from the same conference) that's still in range over a higher ranked conference member.
