Noticed Spurrier didn't vote for Duke this year. They threatened him last year and he must've caved. He is soft in his old age.

I think they're good, and hell, they whooped us last year, but damn. #19?

Then again, I take a look at these preseason polls like this.

1-4 National title contenders.

5-19 Real good teams that can upset anyone on away games.

20-25 ranked based on hope and faith.

Alabama - #1
Florida - #3
LSU - #16
Arkansas - #19
Georgia - #21
Auburn - #23
Ole Miss - #30 (48 votes)
South Carolina - #35 (38 votes)
Missisippi State - 1 vote

So, the only ones to not be included...Vandy, UK, and us?

Wow. That's some junk. I mean I know Miss. State's one vote is a joke, but come on.

Wow.

Even based on your criteria, I see no problem with Arkansas being ranked that highly. They still have Mallett and they had Florida on the ropes in Gainesville last year and they would have won if not for a few questionable calls. I'd say they are capable of that type of win. Definitely.

If you take that criteria, and you take the idea that they played good teams close, aTm should be 24th or 25th.

Coaches are political anyway. Its not a big deal to me. Just was curious how Arkansas is viewed by some of yall.

As to the SMU comment above, they dont have to play em 9 out of 10. Just once. And if it happened this coming season, it'd be a damn good game.

The new "Pony Express" returns 16 starters on both sides of the ball. Kyle Padron will be behind center again, and he's pretty darn good. Their wide outs are solid and they sling it everywhere in that conference. They lose some serious depth at RB, and the lone stud they have is injured, but they can put up numbers still.

Defensively, they're fairly sound with their DE's. That and they're all fairly experienced. I got em' finishing 9-3 with losses to UofH, Tech, and the Frogs.

9 out of 10 historically, you're right. Once this year, Im not sure.

It is to the team's benefit that TN did not receive any votes... creates incentive, which builds desire, which leads to more motivation.
