oh on the contrary. This is precisely the place to do so. That's why its called the "Around the NCAA Forum". Feel free to state your position. I enjoy talking about other schools.

Ohio State is my prohibitive #2 team right now, buuuuut I wouldn't argue if somebody made a case for Texas or even Boise State.

I actually think Oklahoma beats out Texas this year. And I don't think Boise should be in front of OSU. They both have a less than daunting schedule, but Ohio State is simply better.

Oklahoma should finish #2, or at least that's what I have predicted. The preseason ranking are more of an indication of what they did last year and what they think they have coming back. More emphasis on the former if you ask me. Boise has to overcome a few spots in order to get that #2, and having a Big10 Team in there makes it more difficult considering the conference they play in and the level of competition. That being said, I'd cut em a break and let them prove it from the start. A 12-0 Big12 team would get it in the end anyway, and that's exactly what I think Ou will do this year.

As for now, a mix and match of the top 5 would suffice. Texas is, as always, preseason ranked too high considering what they lost.

I'll add that getting to play a disheartned TCU team in a bowl game only proved that the voters are still not willing to let them play with the big boys. TCU didnt care and it showed.

Then the reverse logic would be just as true. The poor sap in a BCS conference that draws TCU, Boise St, Etc. Would and should be just as "disheartened."

Thus the famous hook and ladder, flea flicker, oppity oop, and statue of liberty. I see your point.

Picking on Iowa fans is like shooting fish in a barrel. It's so easy, it's almost not fun some times.

Almost.

I'm sorry, you were saying?

Iowa is overrated, end of story.
Are you really arguing that Iowa is overrated? They've only lost 4 games, are 4-3 in conference, and they only lost to Northwestern by a little on the road. Did you see the epic defensive stand they had at the end of the game against Indiana? Kirk Ferentz once again shows he's every bit worthy of having a salary that's close to 4 million dollars a season. He's finished almost half of his 11 seasons at Iowa in the top 25, what more do you want him to prove? It's a good thing Iowa pays him so well. Definitely makes sense that he makes more money than a coach with a Super Bowl Ring like Sean Payton. Good thing, too, or the Saints might consider firing Payton and hiring Kirk Ferentz. Now if he can just get that pesky outright conference title for the first time in his illustrious career, they should probably just rename the stadium after him.
