Idiots yes. But they didn’t have intentions of overthrowing anything. They just wanted to make a spectacle. I would be willing to bet everyone of them knew it’s physically impossible to overthrow the US government.
Bro.... tread lightly you don’t want to get some disrespected ghost all riled up on youI think it's a good thread. 4% believe it was a coup organized by DJT, including OP.
To illustrate the absurdity of the delusion OP believes:
16% believe in Bigfoot.
33% of Millennials believe the Earth isn't round
36% believe in UFOs
45% believe in Ghosts.
50% believe Biden is doing a good job
I pretty much agree with this EXCEPT your antifa comment.... I’m sure there were several of those scumbums mixed in with the craziesI don't think Trump "planned" the incursion into the Capitol. I think he hoped that his supporters would go and make a lot of noise and he hoped that it would intimidate any member of the Congress not on his side.
I DO think that once it happened he was fine with it. Relished in it. Acted too slowly to tell people to cut it out just because it fed his ego. You can debate what level of moral responsibility he bears as a result, and politics of course infects that discussion so its kind of pointless.
The notion that Antifa had any role in it is just plain f'ing beyond stupid.
So they were just wandering around DC in combat cosplay, saw some barricades and just kept walking aimlessly despite getting shoved and punched by police officers? Their pointlessness was undeterred by pepper balls and OC spray?
All these Twitter posts, video recordings, court filings, etc. are deep fakes?
It was a mostly peaceful protestEven if he didn't plan the incursion itself, I think he knew it could happen and was probably hoping it would. He and his aides were actively monitoring these groups and knew violence could occur and he was not going to stop it. After all, he needed deniability in the end.
The attempt to stop the steal, aka overturn an election and remain in power, is basically textbook definition of a coup. Yes, he attempted a coup
I don't agree that out of thousands of people dumb enough to storm the Capitol to try to overturn the presidential election, none thought it would work. I think at least one or more were dumb enough to think it would work. The problem is neither of us can prove our assumption.
You're a moron. To allow a political disagreement to lead to you saying something beyond stupid about cancer, you're a certain kind of special. As widespread as cancer is, it's hard for me to believe it hasn't touched someone in your life. It took my father. It's taken grandparents, aunts, uncles. My mom just had to have surgery to remove breast cancer. For you to make such a statement is for you to immediately lose any moral argument you could attempt. No matter what you may think of Republicans, or any other posters, you just made yourself worse. So if that was your goal, congratulations. You win the Dumbass of the Year Award.
