USA TODAY says our coach needs a pay raise!

His defense has shown improvement in every year he's been here. We are top 30 in total points allowed, 3rd in the SEC. Top 40 in yards allowed, 4th in the SEC. 70th in passing yards allowed, 8th in the SEC. 26th in rushing yards allowed, 4th SEC. Overall, he's fielded a top 5 overall SEC defense with 2 games to go. It's been enough to win some games but our offense hasn't produced consistently. Defense definitely had lapses but has been consistent in improvement.
Texas A&M and PSU average more offensive points per game than us. Their not offensive juggernauts

No. Not just no absolutely not. We have a better defensive roster than Missouri. Look what just happened.
The results are in and they say you are clueless.
But we have another chance Saturday to change that.
Mizzou did a decent job in Athens at slowing down the Dawgs, so we should do better, right?

Who is ultimately responsible for us having a LESS talented defense than Missouri. Maybe we could just swap DC with them ?

He is a good DC. You can not win the Kentucky Derby with regular horses. When this defense gets elite players you will see how good he is.
Have you seen your shrink lately? I think it is time to up the meds. You are beyond delusional, sir!

Article touting our four defensive touchdowns. Apparently 3 TDS against UCONN, and a Hadden TD off a ball that Rattler would have overthrown Victor Wembanyama means we should open the checkbook.

Question? Why do you think there's such a drop off on offense? We scored an average of over 40pts per game and were #1 in 4 or 5 statistical categories. Why the drop off this year on offense?

There will always be a segment of fans that thinks we should be able to blitz at will and play high pressure press man coverage all over the field and dictate the game. It just doesn't work that way; especially against modern offenses.

You can play press man coverage and dictate the game if your cornerbacks are coached up,and you can get home with 4 or maybe 5. For further evidence turn on CBS at 330.

From what I'm seeing lately it's all just funny money. Go ahead and throw money at him. Apparently the source is endless.

EDIT: IF THE PROGRAM WANTS TO KEEP HIM.
Agree. It's nuts...just make up numbers. I used to worry about how fiscally responsible UTAD was...lol.

Ultimately it’s way to complicated for the “fire banks” faction to understand so I’m not going to waste a lot of my time on it,

20 years of incompetence, dumpster fire, investigation, sanctions doesn’t = immediate top 10 recruiting and building quality and depth overnight.
Injuries decimate what you have been able to build .

I'm of the opinion that Bank's gets a pass, if not a raise. So we'll see him come 2024. That said he is building up a body of work. My fear is that CJH is going to be pressed into a decision down the road - but I hope not. I was done with Martinez a few weeks ago......so I'm out. Need to give him whatever walking papers and money there is and move on. There are definitely coaching issues right now, IMO, so I'm starting with the lowest common denominator....CWM. It's not working now now, and it didn't then.

Cody Schrader? The top RB in the SEC in 2023?
Yeah. Banks let him set records against us. Here are his rushing numbers against some of the teams he has played.

Middle TN- 84 yards rushing
South Dakota- 138 yards
Vandy- 60 yards rushing
Kansas State- 58 yards rushing

TN- 205 yards rushing

So what’s your point?

You do realize there's a whole team responsible for all the yards Mizzou got.

Just checked the stats, and Vols give up an average of 20.2 points per game which is ranked 29th in the nation. Considering that our time of possession (offense) is the lowest in the nation at about 24 minutes per game so the defense averages being on the field about 36 minutes a game, I think this is pretty good. While they have had a couple of bad games, they have also had some good games. I don't think the talent level on D is quite up to that on O yet, but it is getting there. All things considered, I think Banks is doing OK.

Florida has not had a great year offensively, but did against our defense. Milton walked all over bama the first half. Then the Defense gave up the game in the second. Mizzouris offense had alot of success against our D. I like coach Banks but results matter, I don't believe our season is the offenses fault
Sorry, but if you watched the Bama game, you would have known that there were numerous holds on the D-line in the second half that weren't called. For example, on their first TD pass in the second half, Baron had gotten around the blocker and the blocker had his arm around Barons neck holding him back from behind so their QB had time to make the throw. If that is not a blatant hold that wasn't called I don't know what is. I think I remember seeing that Bama had averaged having about 75 or 80 yards in penalties per game coming in to that game, and they had only 1 procedure penalty for 5 yards in that game. Not much the D-coordinator can do about that situation.
