They should accept they reached the peak of mediocrity. Best year ever they win the east & get clobbered in championship. Their best is at everybody else's worst.

At least UK and Vandy have a history...USClite didn't have anything before Spurrier...Pretty sad when your school is behind UK and Vandy in history lol

Well....UK was okay when Bear Bryant was there, and that's about it.

Vandy was good prior to like 1940.

I actually think USCes tradition is better than either...they have more all time victories and a better all time win percentage.

But both of those still SUCK, so .... :)

Cockytalk is blowing up about how he is too old. It appears they have forgotten from whence they came.

Sorry, I know it's not classy to laugh right now, but LMFAO! And I would like to add a healthy serving of crow to that wrinkled old fool Lou Holtz. :)

If icing himself had worked, USC fans would be calling Stevie a genius right now for taking those two timeouts.

I just took a quick look at cockytalk and there are people ready to slit their wrists over there. Some of them openly realize that since Spurrier couldn't get them to the promised land with this team, it just ain't happening.

And what they have to digest is that, with Tennessee, its not going to happen in the future either.

Next season with the loss of Clowney and others They will be back to 6-7 wins a season. The High School players in SC are going to want to play for Clemson and not USC.

I will not ever take anything away from Spurrier's coaching ability. As much as I hate him for what He has done to us in the past, he is still a powerhouse coach in college football. HE IS the one that brought FL and SC to relevance.

He was outcoached and outplayed today by the future of SEC football.

Bet he wishes he wouldn't have played games with his timeouts. Wonder how funny Thompson thinks it was now.

Also funny how Davis wasn't shhhing the crowd and Clowny wasn't dancing after the game. Wonder what happened?

I loved beating them at their best. And with Spurrier.... makes it all the sweeter. Thug Clowney wasn't waving to the crowd afterwards either. WOOOOO!!! GO VOLS

They are back to what they were in the Lou Holtz era. I look for Spurrier to retire after this season. He just can't recruit the same talent he did at Fkorida because he's not at Fla and SC doesn't have that kind of talent.

Spurrier is Spurrier and the baggage/respect he carries with him demands that you fear him...or at least respect what he might be up to. Most young coaches would crap their drawers as he calls time out after time out, as you try to get in his head and figure out what he's up to. Butch IS the coach I and most are thinking he is. He didn't blink and turned what Spurrier was doing into a positive for us, and methodically took his plan and made him pay. THIS was big time coaching that we got to see today. Loved it!

I hate to keep kicking him, but Dooley doesn't win today. Instead he files another "moral victory" into his fancy lawyer's briefcase. ;)

He said in the post conference that they were going to go for it and took a timeout to get the right play; he went on to say that we changed alignment and forced the 2nd timeout

We got multiple first downs on that drive, I very much doubt the timeouts would have helped, unless Spurrier magically knew we would get 1st and goal and held on to them the entire last drive.
