I think he did out coach himself with those 2 timeouts on 4n2. It wasn't his best day.

Those 2 timeouts called by Spurrier didn't decide the game.

What decided the game for us was : (1) No interceptions by Worley-bird (2) No fumbles by the team (3) We had fewer penalties than USC (4) North's key catch in the 4th quarter (5) Palardy's game winning field goal.

Spurriers 2 timeouts wouldn't have altered the result of the game!!!!

Apparently USC has gotten where they were before spurrier.. They were pretty much Vanderbilt and Kentucky before he took over. To be honest, before Spurrier took over I think I would have been upset that we just barely beat USC by a field goal. Pathetic...

he coached great for 3 quarters then must have been puff puff pass

The 2 timeouts wasted was pretty stupid.

Plus there was plenty of Fulmer blasting in his prime; while he didn't "make" UT, before the 90s we weren't exactly gang-busters for the previous 30-40 years.

how old are you 12 you say Tennessee wasn,t exactly gang-buster for the previous 30 -40 years before Fulmer. So your basicly saying Tennessee was average from 1950 till Fulmer took over ATLEAST THATS HOW IT LOOKS TO ME your craze Tennessee has always been good a few bad years hear and there but crazy to say what you did they won sec and ncaa titles in the 30 -40 years before phil fulmer.

Did anyone notice that the announcers talked all day about Clowney and USC and not very much about UT ? I got sick of hearing Clowney-Clowney-Clowney, I wonder if Clowney is dancing this morning and the OBC feels like he was at home yesterday?

dunno what everones deal is with the TOs. he addressed it in the conference but I dont see what the big deal is. nothing would have changed except maybe he could try to ice the kicker. they werent getting the ball back with time either way. spurrier didnt lose this game for them, our defense played well and their offense could not overcome, TOs or not

it was the refs fault, his own qb's fault, his special teams fault, Tennessee didn't do anything that caused them to lose the game! really? you'd think that a man as old as SS would have acquired some humility by now, but doesn't look like that is going to happen. I loved his post game presser with his own reporters. He was as insecure as an eighth grader at the senior prom!

Yes it is funny how people forget how lucky they were to have a great coach. :whistling:

Joe Morrison was a darn good Coach for USC in the 1980s. Too bad He died in 1989 and didn't get to Coach the Gamecocks when They entered the SEC. Spurrier and Coach Morrison are the best USC ever had.

those are some pretty delusional fans over there on that Cockytalk site...
I know,I know,I just had to check it out,for curiosity more than anything else...

1 quote from a USC Fan was striking though:

"Our team has not played with passion for a long time, what do they have to play for now? I watched Tenn. play their first game, horrible, but with passion, their coach has it and it spreads to the team, and see what has happened."

even other teams are starting to see it...on the field and in the stands of Neyland...

Morrison was a very good coach, I lived close to him when he was at UT Chattanooga
