USC Crumbling

Those defensive numbers are surprising to say the least. I guess the next thread should be "How long does USC keep Kiffin around until they fire him"? I might buy a quality Cuban cigar for that day.

We still have a few chapters to go through before we reach the end. Next up Little Lane fires Combover Daddy to save his own ass.

The D sucked last year too and that's before they had a lot of good players graduate or go pro.

The good thing is after USC does fire him is that nobody will want to hire him...A school would be stupid to want that kind of drama queen around....Maybe he can sell cars for a living, seems to have the gift of gab.

Exactly. People seem to forget how many Stanford hung on them last season.

That was almost all done by one player and he is playing for the vikes now. If Stanford had the run game they had last year USC would have been torched. The Tampa 2 is dated.

stanford is basically averaging the same number of yards per game as they did last year on the ground despite luck being far more experienced. the great white hope gerhart has been shown to be a fraud. there are a lot of backs that could run for big yardage with that oline.

That couldn't happen to the next coming of Jimmy Johnson...

See, that's the tough thing about facts. They generally crush the fallacy of hype.

Over 1800 yards is a fluke?

If he was that elite, he'd likely be great in the NFL, too.

Cal had a back in 2004 run for over 2000 yards. He's not even in the nfl anymore. ron dayne is the ncaa all time leader in rushing yards. he isn't exactly ripping up the nfl.

Was Ron Dayne backing up a running back like Petterson?

I'm sure the 1200 he had the year before was luck also. The great O line you are referring to had to be pretty young in 2008.

If Kiffin loses to ND, the wheels will come off. That streak has been alive for awhile now.

My favorite sentence

"He is not suited for such a role, and is far from a wunderkind. Kiffin, an above average offensive coordinator, is years away from being who he thinks he is ... if ever. Al Davis, Tennessee and USC should have known better."

they had a good oline in 08 too, but with many different players. this has been a staple of harbaugh's teams. particurally impressive considering most of these guys were 2 or 3 star guys.

Wut? I saw him lower his head more than a few times and get extra yards....I don't think it was like surfing into the end zone..guy was a good back....imo
