USC/Oregon St.

yes. the speed and talent at the offensive skill positions and the elite offensive coaching in the pac-10 means that virtually every team in the pac-10 has a "fighting chance" against anyone. it's not like in some leagues where over half the teams have virtually no shot of winning against the elite teams. that's not to say it's the hardest conference. certainly not this year. just that there are a lot of pac-10 teams that have the ability to get hot on a given day and beat an elite team. vandy can play the game of it's life and still not beat florida or georgia. why? because they can't score.
easy there. This was USC's annual egg laying event, which must be getting tiring for USC fans.

They drill the good teams and lose to crap like Stanford and OSU.

I don't buy any of the talent argument. Stanford doesn't have it and OSU didn't have it last night. USC never adjusted to stop the run in the first half and it killed them, along with poor offensive play.

USC always drops one to someone they shouldnt, i still don't understand it. But, imo. USC is the only team that could go through the SEC with a chance. The rest of the PAC10 would get shredded by UF, UGA, UA, LSU etc. (its sad that I couldnt put the Vols in there)

If USC's defense is going to play like that regularly, they are not a top football team, period.

I agree with you that offensively the Pac-10 is good....But IMO its not a very good all around conference when you take defense into account. I know that you will probably say that its not that the defense is bad, but its that the offense is just that good....and on that point I would disagree. Defense is atrocious in that conference. The difference in the Pac-10 and other conferences is that the best athletes on the field are on offense in the Pac-10...In the SEC and other conferences they are on defense.

I think anyone can beat anyone in the SEC. In the Pac-10 there is USC and then everyone else lumped in mediocrity.

OSU has produced a lot of nfl players on both sides of the ball. the stanford loss was a major screw up. This loss isn't nearly as bad IMO.

before this year they hadn't done it in 20 years right? and when's the last time they beat anyone decent?
They havent been to a bowl game since 84 I think....But, they have won on the road before. They beat USC in USC last year when they were ranked number 6.

Vandy has produced a lot of NFL players as well. I would bet a very similar number of starters.

I would put my money on Vandy over all but about 3 maybe four teams in the Pac10. And, that includes that same team that lost to MD

Than you clearly don't know anything about pac-10 football. Cal has 3 times the number of NFL players vandy has.

What does NFL players have to do with the product on the field? Vandy could beat Cal this year, and if the NFL players you are talking about are like Desean Jackson. I think we saw how smart he was in the Dallas game.

How can you argue that the Pac10 is deserving to be mentioned with the SEC, Big12 and Big10.

The Pac10 has USC, and the rest are a bunch of middle of the road schools. Nothing more, nothing less.

any team "could" beat Cal this year. you said you'd bet on vandy, which shows you know nothing. cal would be favored by 2 tds over vandy. and the big-10 is awful.

I would take Vandy over Cal all day long. Hell, MD beat Cal. And MD lost to MTSU!!!! But, I guess that makes me moron in football right?

BIG10 has tOSU, WI, Penn State (which ass raped oregon, the same oregon team that dominated USC) and IL a team that could hang with anyone in the Pac10.

The big10 may be garbage, but their garbage is better than 95% of the Pac10.

I think you may be the one that knows nothing about football.

You lost to UCLA. are you a worse team than UCLA? if so you wont win a game the rest of the season. the team A beat team B therefore team C can beat team B argument is really ridiculous. teams lay eggs all the time. there isn't a team in the big-10 that could sniff the top of the pac-10 standings.

Cal wouldn't be 2TD faves over Vandy right now, even at Cal.
