USC sanctions

Find me evidence of that in the 'AA's findings. Floyd's the only one in this process who stood up and said "If you take the word of a convicted felon shopping a book deal and make findings of substantial wrongdoing against me, I'll make the judgment Tark got against you fools look like chump change." The 'AA wanted no part of that.

That's why Floyd resigned?

Good news...anything that helps Tennessee makes me happy.

I am sure Kiffin would rather be at a probation USC over a non-probation TN still though. He is making double money in LA and has excuses if he doesn't win right away.
Hamilton would have matched the offer. If not, he can burn in hell for this.

I want to be the first to offer congrats to the 2004 National Champions Oklahoma Sooners. What a program, and they do it with class, and by following the rules.

Team of the decade...
this is a thread started on the Trojan site. just about all the responses contain words beginning with F. lol

USC should not lose a title over this. That would be crap, assuming the polls will take away the votes.

I love it.
Lose 20 scholarships, ban from post-season play for two years, vacate a few past victories (please lord, let them lose the nat'l championships), recruiting restrictions and go on double-secret probation. AWESOME!

Best thing is that NO WAY Kiffy can operate within the rules so when he gets nailed for infracting then USC could get shut down completely.

Who gets the last laugh on this one?

Congratulations to all of you USC faithfuls who were so sarcastically sympathetic to the Volunteer Nation when we left by the roadside.

I vote that we give Kiffin the key to the city.

This is not a day to argue whether we believe the punishment fits the crime or argue what actually happened and who knows what. This is a day to rejoice as a Tennessee fan that the scum that was our last coach has gone to a program that now is in serious disarray. Suck it, Lane.

My inner fan agrees.

I would like to personally congratulate Lane Kiffin on his wise career choice...He doubled his income but also doubled his cost of living, so its about even. He takes over a program on probation who will now be under a magnifying glass. He is staring at 2 years of no bowl games and then when USC becomes bowl eligible.....Oklahoma and Texas will now be in there conference...No more cake walks through Arizona, UCLA and Arizona St....Now you'll have 2 more tough games....good luck lane I'm sure you and Layla will be looking for a new home in 3 years

Not trying to be a jerk but what exactly does this have to do with "Tennessee Vols Football"?

Well, i think it obviously makes alot of Tennessee Foot ball fans happy, for obvious reasons...but does the ncaa now come after us for Kiffins time here?

It amazes me that someone who has spent less than 1/10,000th of the time around big time coaches that I have is trying to lecture me on the inner workings of big time college athletics.

Haha, golden. You are so incredibly connected. Jw, were you present at the Big 3 tourney this week?

2004 USC Trojans football team - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sources inside the NCAA have been quoted as saying, "What they had going was completly unregulated and over-the-top. We found evidence that at least half the players were being paid, and coaches and university all looked the other way. If we had our way, we would give them the death penaly. But word came down from the top that we can't rock the boat that much."

Hat, why are you defending this at all?? I don't understand. Sure, the NCAA is by far the most inconsistent association in sports, but they knew they had to get this right. BTW, I'm sure that your not naive enough to believe that there wasn't many other things that went on out there, that the average fan on the East coast would fail to hear about. Come on man, I know you better than that.

This isn't hard to understand at all. HATVOL hates all things Tennessee and is in Love with all things Kiffin.

Once you understand these 2 points all of his assinine, unintelligible posts, about how vile UT and UT fans are and how we should just bow down to his , self-proclaimed superior intellect is, make perfect sense.

NCAA sanctions, or incompetent AD sanctions?

There are plenty incompetent ADs out there, but the NCAA only cares if they are allowing violations to take place under their watch. The truth is that allegations against Floyd haven't been disproved - and it's one of the things the NCAA was investigating. Now that they are passing down penalties to USC, it appears those allegations may be true. I think it's a stretch at this point to believe that Floyd was somehow a victim of this.

From the USC board

"It's time for the USC Power Brokers and Lawyers to bring down the NCAA

The NCAA just picked on the wrong team to start a fight with."

Markeith Ambles via facebook:

"yes im still goin to attend sc i dont care about two little bowl games even if that happens..... Lets go trojans we still goin 12-0"

if the football team gets a 2 year bowl ban and the basketball team only gets a 1 year bowl ban i think we can safetly assume floyd didn't hand a guy $1K in broad daylight or at least there isn't evidence of it.

The bowl ban is a punishment for the basketball program? Unless there are some new punishments, the only ones so far are a result of the AD trying to get the NCAA to go easy on the football program.
