Used cars in Nashville

My wife and I are doing Financial Peace University. We are selling one of our cars to get rid of a car payment.

I want to buy a used Honda, Toyota, Nissan or something similar just to get me to and from. Want to pay no more than $3,500. Just want a "beater"

Anyone know a good place to look in Nashville area?

Good place? No. Lots of questionable places with Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans tho. Try driving down Nolensville Road. Hundreds of used car dealerships.

I'm the same way. You most likely will find a better deal though since it would be through a private seller. You might find a vehicle that belonged to someone's grandma that was rarely used.

I just started reading Dave Ramsey and I've been thinking about selling my car too. We live on the two floors above my wife's office, so she doesn't have a commute or really need a car during the day. Her car is fine, and mine has been parked since we moved to our new location.

I would actively patrol CL and I would ask around. Make a post on FB or start lurking CL for a couple of weeks.

Those cars that you mentioned are frequently up for sale, and I'm sure you could find one that will work for you. You just have to keep a watch of CL and stay patient until you find something that looks good.

Something else to keep in mind, private sellers aren't the only ones on CL. You can usually find TONS of ads from car dealers on there too.

If you have cash, and find a car at a dealer for 3.6-4k, just walk right in, observe the car, ask for the carfax, pull out a wad o 3,500 and say "i'll pay it all with cash right now."

(every time someone pays with cash, an angel gets its wings)

Two of them will be paid off within the next 6 months and the new one has around 44,000 on it. Not terrible, but I will be glad when two of them get paid off.......................so I can get a boat lol

I'm not sure you're going to be able to find a Toyota/Honda/Nissan beater for $3500 that wont beat you back. Better make an envelope for Emmitts

My friend works at his family's dealership. Referred many people to him. All very happy. I'd be happy to give you contact info.

PS. He is south of Nash. In Columbia.
