USF vs Florida Game Thread

That was a disastrous final 2 minutes for the USF offense. They'll need to put that behind them.

how can you even say something like that at this point? i'm not saying what the future holds for him, but he's looked mediocre at best the last game and a half against below average competetion.

USF isn't a bad team, they'd do pretty well in the SEC actually. As I said, I don't expect Brantley to be a Heisman QB, but the boys had some bright moments. Who's looked better than him in the SEC?

With that said, Ahmad Black is trying to break the SEC record for picks in a career.

I don't expect a first year QB to come out and be all world. Yeah, he's overthrown three balls, but his positives have far overshadowed his negatives.

You can't be serious.

He was on the verge of leading his team to 0 points against a depleted Big East defense. He needed USF to make a mistake close to the end zone to put points on the board.

Most of the players they showed drafted from USF were defensive players...

Brantley's positives do not outweigh the negatives.

he will get it wound up against vandy soon and show you why they will forget tebow

if usf were in the sec, they would most likely be on par with the kentucky's, ole miss's, and miss st's of the conference. they aren't a terrible team, but miami (ohio) wasn't too good and he didn't do much against them last week either. it's too early to tell how he turns out, but it's also too early to say that he'll be a top caliber qb in the conference at this point also.

Yeah, because he's the only player on the offense. Let's pretend as if there hasn't been 3 or 4 dropped passes, mediocre play calling, and minute production from the backs. It's all on Brantley.

Outside of the Gators USF would play Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Vandy, Auburn, and probably even LSU, and they'd play them well. USF isn't some scrub team. Should the Gators be playing better? Of course, but this isn't Citadel.

Has he played supremely well thus far? No. He'll have his growing pains, but he has around 300 yards, 3 TD's, and 0 picks through his first game and a half. I'm not mad at that.

i dont know why people just assumed he would be a greaT qb anyway.
just because he is at florida?
tebow was a high recruit as well but no one annointed him great until he proved it.
brantley will be average at best and that is still giving too musch credit without him proving otherwise

so you argument is based just on what if?
what if usf was SEC......'

well what if i was born with a 14" pecker....
then i would be great in porn
as it stands i would just be average

but i guess we can all play that fantasy game of what if

Not if you dont know how to use it correctly!

Alas, that was my downfall

You must have not seen all the bobbled snaps and poor exchanges that are the qb's responsibilty then have you? He has looked far from good and any normal Florida fan who doesn't have two teams to pull for is worried. I guarantee it.

I don't disagree, but considering the QB situations outside of Arkansas and Alabama, claiming Brantley could end up top 3 isn't extremely far fetched.

Dude, I haven't missed a Gator game in years, I saw the bad snaps last week, and because of that I know all to well that the majority of them weren't his fault. Pouncey played terrible last week.

If I'm offered Garcia or Brantley this season, I'm taking Garcia.

Leave the football talk to those who wish and are capable of talking football.

Auburn, MSST, SC, GA, and even Vandy's QB have looked better than Brantley so far this year. I also think Simms looked better but we won't count that one since I'm sure I biased there.
