I know the national championship year was special, a ton of big games, but one game stands out to me, the UT win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl,2002.Casey was the qb.The reason this is so big for me was my wife lived in Michigan for 15 years prior to moving here.Needless to say all I ever heard was how great the Big Blue was,how great the Big Ten was.Her dad and brother would ride me periodically.Well, needless to say, after we popped them 45-17, I didn't have to say a word the next time I saw them.A great day to be a Tennessee Vol.Yes, my wife was and still is a Tennessee fan. :biggrin2:

The "Touch from God" game against Arkansas is the one that sticks out the most in my mind. Next would be the National Championship and our win over "DA U!!!"

Tennessee: 10
Miami: 6

After the National Championship game, my favorite is by far the Sugar Bowl win over Miami. The trouncing of Auburn in 85 was sweet too.

1995 Bama game end of the streak
1996 Citrus Bowl victory over the overrated Eddie George.

Heath Shuler's Gator chomp in 1992

The Miracle at SouthBend
A win over the U in 1986 Sugar Bowl (down goes another Hypesman winner)

(I tried to stay away from the NC year they were all outstanding games)

That was an awesome game! My brother-in-law is from Michigan and a big blue fan. I still rag him about Jason Witten outrunning the whole defensive backfield.

That whole season was magical. You could choose the games against Auburn, Alabama, Miami . . . even the tie against Ga Tech.

Here's one that few people cared about . . . the 1994 Georgia game. We went into Athens with Todd Helton at QB and absolutely laid the wood to them.

It wasn't a big win, but I remember it because I left early and there was an obviously drunk man being held up by his wife moaning something about getting beaten by a team with a 1st baseman at QB and this crap never happened when Hershel was here. :D

The SEC championship game against Auburn in Atlanta Peyton's last year. Tennessee did everything wrong that you possibly could and still won it in the last few minutes. Fumbled punts, bad bounce interceptions, and a blocked extra point returned for two by Auburn, just to name a few. I especially remember Auburn's QB SAPANKING one of his guards for jumping the count and getting a penalty. Boy was he POed. Everytime I watch that tape I LMAO.

An obscure game I especially enjoyed was a national TV game against Louisville ( I was at Neyland) when Snellenburger was coaching UL. Louisville was supposed to be pretty good that year but the Vols pulverized them. I admit it, I enjoy a good a$$whuppin' when the Vols are doing the whuppin'.

Speaking of whuppin's, the away game against Bammer, I think in Birmingham, when Gene Stallings was coaching. PM went to Kent for 80 yards on the first play and on to a monumental butt kicking. Stallings got so hot at his defensive coaches, I thought he was gonna strangle them. He did put a pretty good cuss job on one of them on national TV right before the half.

Although the NC game was a big one, I think the brutalizing of Miami (University of Leavenworth) in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago was bigger.

Any game where we beat Florida warms my heart.
I now know why I bow before the benign and benevolent ruler that is our lady of orange. Go Vols!...beat Florida!

The January 1, 2002 game in the Citrus Bowl against Meeeechigan is also a favorite of mine, and the 2003 win at Miami when the "Soljahs" didn't even cross the goal line in their home stadium since 1984. The 2001 Florida game was very special for me. Just got through watching it last night as a matter of fact. Two more, the 2004 win at Georgia, and the miraculous comeback at LSU last year. There are many more, but I think I'll stop there.

A few games that stick out to me:

1992 Hall of Fame Bowl vs. Boston College. Sorta Shuler's coming out party. !st play was huge, 42 yard p[ass to the 1 to Ronald Davis. Then SHuler ran for 2 TD's himself and correct me if Im wrong, but Mose Phillips had another one of his 60+ yard scampers on a creen pass breaking tackles left and right, as did Shuler on his last TD run. Great Day for the Vols, sorta turned the corner for things to come.

The 1992 UGA games with "interim" Head Coach Phil Fulmer. Double digit dogs to the Dawgs. New QB and a young OL that really played well that day. Clutch throw on 4th and 12 to ronald davis. We werent even really given a chance that day.

1990 Florida game. Need I explain? Spurrier's worst beating ever.

1995 Bama game. I lived in Bham for 12 years at the time. I had gone through this streak not even knowing what it was like to beat Bama because I was too young to understand during the 4 game streak in the early 1980's. All fo the kids at school rubbed it in, gave me a hard time. Man, did they silence quick for the next 7 years to come. We couldnt miss that night. It was awsome. Enjoyed going back to school that next monday. That sunday drug on so long.

1999 Bama. They thought this would end their losing streak against us with Hiesman Alexander and all. We held him to under 100 yards and the defense played awsome that day. Shutting down every aspect of their offense. ANd Tee's bootleg from 21 yards out pretty much sealed the deal. The Bham news papaer's Sports front page read "It's Tee Time In T-Town".

2001 Bama. I just love winning at Bama I guess.

2003 Bama. 5 OT's and nearly one heart attack.

2004 UGA. Once again, a double digit dog. Struck early, and never gave up the lead. Defense was great all day, the offense played well enough, made some mistakes that could ahve put the game out of reach, but held in there and won. Great for the seniors.

2004 Florida. Never need to explain a floria victory.

2005 LSU- Rick's welcome back home party. 2nd time in a row we have come from 21 down at the half at LSU to bring it in to OT. This time we won. The only half of football we played all year.

1986 Sugar bowl over Miami..obvious reasons
1990 Cotton Bowl over ARkansas...because it was my first real big game to see the Vols live and in action, plus it was a GREAT game.
1991 Sugar Bowl...huge comeback win, tony thompson over the top for game winning TD...Carl Pickens was big in that game too if memory serves
The UF game in the rain...Mose Phillips..."it's about time"....Awesome.
1989 Auburn, i think that was the year?

1993 Bama...i was there, and it sucked, but what a game....i got to see us "not lose" to Bama for the first time in 8 years....

1995 Bama
1996 Georgia
1997 Citrus bowl over Ohio St.
1997 SEC CG
1998 Florida...."NO SIRRRREEEE!!!!"
1999 Fiesta Bowl
2001 LSU...1st game after 9/11...took my youngest brother....every emotional game
2001 Florida
2002 Citrus Bowl
2003 Bama...5 OT's....tore the "heart OUT of Dixie"
2004 Miami
2004 Georgia

that's about it for me....

I know we all said no 98, but remember how special this was at the exact moment that it happened. September, with the National title barely a glint in our eyes. F-Ing Spurrier. OverTime. I was living in Southeast Missouri at the time, and they are just football-deprived. so when a short man in an Orange Polo shirt grabbed 2 beers and ran out into the street yelling, actually crying, and spraying beer (don't worry, I more than made up for this later on the same night) they didn't know quite what to think. I actually think I was more overjoyed at this than the title game itself.

The 10-7 win over Miami.

The 50 yarder to win the game against UF.

Beating UGA between the hedges in 2004.

Im sorry, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time in this post where someone has posted the 2003 Miami game. To set the record straight, the score was 10-6. We held them to No TD's. 1st time in almost 10 years Miami had gone through a game w/o scoring a TD.

10-6. Everyone got that. 10-6.....not 7.
