This thread makes me very very happy.

What year was it that it was "finally the year" when Georgia would beat Tennessee, and the game was between the hedges. We went in and KILLED the dogs? What year was that?

I know the national championship year was special, a ton of big games, but one game stands out to me, the UT win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl,2002.Casey was the qb.The reason this is so big for me was my wife lived in Michigan for 15 years prior to moving here.Needless to say all I ever heard was how great the Big Blue was,how great the Big Ten was.Her dad and brother would ride me periodically.Well, needless to say, after we popped them 45-17, I didn't have to say a word the next time I saw them.A great day to be a Tennessee Vol.Yes, my wife was and still is a Tennessee fan. :biggrin2:

I agree with this game I was there since I was living in Orlando at the time and both teams traveled well so there was alot of excitement leading up to the game. And I remember all day long Clausen to Witten they couldnt stop it !!

1998 Florida game.

Ending years of frustration, Neyland at night, first Tennessee overtime game, beating Spurrier again finally... Deon Grant coming out of nowhere for the interception in the fourth quarter, Shawn Bryson breaking the fullback plunge for a long TD, Al Wilson causing 3 fumbles and basically raising hell all over the field.

I actually cried when we won, right there in front of 108,000. Of course I had lots of company and most understood the sentiments :biggrin2: My wife still makes fun of me.

That Grant INT was THE best INT I have ever seen.

That's one reason I have Spurrier as my avatar. His facial expression means he was either blowing up or about to and I hope UT was lighting the fuse.I don't think there will ever be another Steve Spurrier and the feeling that went with it when we beat the gators while he was head coach.

I think you mean the first half of the 1995 UF game. We were shut out at home in 1994.

Thanks for the reminder of one of my WORST football memories. We had a great pre-game party, were all fired up, and then before we could sit down with a smokey dog trailed 4 touchdowns. I lived across Henley on Chapman Hwy, it had been a long day, and the walk back across the bridge seemed to take hours.

People always criticize Spurrier for running up the score. Florida could have won 55-0 if they wanted to that night.

Had we beaten LSU, Miami would have killed us in the Rose Bowl. We were a good to very good team, Miami was essentially an NFL team.

I know they wouldn't have killed us and I'm not too sure they would have beaten us.We seem to play Miami tough in most games we have played them (soldiers, please).

Did you see the game the next year in Neyland Stadium? We wouldn't have been competitive. Look at that Miami roster, we would have been a better opponent than Nebraska but we wouldn't have been close. They had their obligatory scare earlier in the year at BC. They were on on a mission after getting shafted out of a Championship Game berth by an FSU team thay had beaten. That Miami team was one of the 5 best teams of the last 30 years. Nobody was beating them.
