We keep landing all these defensive coaches. When are we gonna fix our real problems which is our offense? I can see defensive players wanting to come play for us, but what incentive does a offensive guy have? It's not looking to good right now.

Not sure I believe this one just yet...I will hold out for some sort of confirmation.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this is ANOTHER white coach. However, this would be one of the best gets by Kiffin yet.

Yep the whole state of TN is completely racist. Find something else to argue about man, this is just getting ridiculous.

I just think that hiring an AA coach just to hire one is laughable. If kids come to a school because of the color of their coaches skin, then that's just shallow as hell white or black.

I agree, but that is the world we live in.

I was merely just pointing out the obvious. White or black this is a fantastic hire.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes an issue at some point. It is already being mentioned internally and by the media that covers UT.

Hiring an AA coach just to fill a quota is wrong - just like interviewing one to say you did is wrong. I have never liked that rule.

Hire the best available regardless of skin color.

I dont think the media gives a rats bootie what color ASSISTANT coaches are. Head coaches are what everyone is crying about. I DO think the prevailing wisdom is that it is good to have some on staff to relate to racist players who want to be developed by a guy of the same color who can somehow better relate to their plight of trying to make millions in the NFL. Boo hoo. Any kid with any inteligence will want to go to a program that puts kids in the first day of the DRAFT, not someone they can relate to.

isnt it obvious that black people were meant to be athletes and white people were meant to be doctors/lawyers/politicians(obamas like half white..duh)

since theyre smarter, its only natural that they are the coaches and the bp's are the players..

Tony Dungey is the ONLY exception.. :)

Do you say the same thing when we pick up another AA recruit. No, so who cares.

could we call truce on the whole African-American assistant thing?

please?

for the children's sake?

or in the words of George W. Bush---"childrens"

seriously....

every name i've heard for WR's & DB's lately has been AA guys in college or the pros.

stop sweating it.

please stop sweating it.

we aren't going to get another press conference until we finish the offense---Kiffin apparently wants to show his team all at once.

Chaney + (whoever is doing TE's) + RB's + WR's + Reeves

It will be a big wow moment with everyone lined up behind Kiffin.

that was the earlier report anyways..no more pc's without the O-staff completely finished

***update***

UT has confirmed the hire!

I think Cregg just moved over to the Offensive side,, most likely as line coach,,,, I would have said scoring side, but with Monte and O coaching, the defense will post an average of one TD a game.

a little defensive here aren't we? Let me go out on a limb and say the staff will include at least two black assitant coaches -- and they will have great creds.

WR and DB's

Seriously the only recruit I see this helping the vols out with is Tana Patrick. It possibly could have been his pos. coach. I still think he ROLLS with the TIDE, but right now I'd say that is up in the air. And no I'm not a vol fan. I am a HUGE fan of college football and I do root for the SEC.
