UT made it on the Total Frat Move page... funny

So you are telling me the guys that showed up with more hair gel than a woman uses in her lifetime and half of them had blowouts and the other half were bald all wearing Lacoste and white sun glasses weren't Guidos?

So you're taking a few guys you saw at a football game that are from Florida and then saying the whole state is like that? Really?

No. Good try though.

Try visiting any fraternity in the "south" and you will instantly see there is no similarities to the Florida fraternities other than the fact they have Greek letters.

That's like a Florida native trying to claim they're southern.

I'm still trying to figure out what is wrong with the guys in the picture in front of McAlisters?

They look to be dressed fine...is it the pink that bothers you?

They're dressed like a pack of pussies.

It looks like something straight out of a douchebag catalog.

It's one thing to want to dress that way, it's another to have your buddies all dress the same and pose like its a ******n Polo ad.

Be an individual for christ sake.

See, there's a flaw in logic here. The assumption you're making is that the clothing you see worn is done with the intention of fitting in with others, therefore making them the opposite of individualists.

There's a much greater possibility that they grew up wearing polo shirts and shorts, or simply wear it because they like it.

Many people's automatic assumption from this thread is that everything is done with the intention of being exactly the same. In my opinion, it's done because that's what they enjoy, and they found an organization to join that has similar ideals to what they value.

As a man, if I show up to a friends house with the intention of hitting the town and my friends are dressed exactly the same, I'm going to question not only myself but my friends as well.

For the guys in that picture, those outfits were choreographed, no doubt and that is pathetic.

I have no qualms about a person joining a fraternity, I couldn't care less but there is a reason for the stereotype that follows them.

I legitimately doubt the clothing worn was choreographed. My guess is that girls at a party noticed a few guys were dressed similarly, so they said pose like this. Drunk guys who are wanting the vag will comply, especially if the girls were hot.

Oh, and that's not even taking into account the possibility of it being some sort of a themed mixer.

Edit: After looking at the picture again, it's not a mixer. I still doubt it was planned, though.

Only a GDI would pop his collar this day and age.

This is what pisses quite a few people off also. Because I don't wear what you wear I'm a GDI? I'll be independent. At least I'm not dependent on others to do everything(not claiming you are). That phrase is the dumbest thing I have ever heard especially when fraternities throw it around as insults like you do.

Wearing collared shirts is dressing exactly the same? So when everyone at work has to dress business casual that is pathetic? When you and your friends are all wearing t-shirts, that is choreographed and pathetic and you question yourself?

Bassman and crusse are spot on, volfann is completely out of the loop. There couldn't be more of a difference between a southern fraternity and other greek life across the US.

A dress code is one thing. Those collared shirts are probably tucked into a pair of slacks with a decent pair of shoes and doesn't look like a floppy pink tarp. You know. Respectable.

Still no one has explained to me what the differences are. If there "couldn't be more of a difference" than there should be plenty. Just going by what I've seen in Florida and the frat guys at UT, they dress exactly the same.

So can you wear anything you want in your fraternity?

So they all chose to wear the same thing

No. They choose to wear what they like to wear. If they end up liking the same type of clothing, then so be it. Complaining about what people wear because they look presentable at all times is kind of pathetic, if you ask me.

How dare someone wear a collared shirt, a pair of shorts with only 4 pockets, a belt, and a pair of close-toed shoes.

It is also pathetic to point people out who don't wear polo and vineyard vines or whatever it is everyday. Goes both ways.

There's a difference. If you look respectable, then I don't care. Buying pre-torn clothing, though, deserves its ridicule, unless being worn ironically.

I do enjoy watching how they run in little packs, and wait for each other to be around before somebody decides to talk **** to someone, then they all still get their asses beat.

My favorite scene so far was a few years ago, some frat boys came down from IU to the Harley Davidson drag races here at Beech Bend. 5 of the them decided they would gang up on one guy, who turned out to be the local chapter president of the Outlaws MC. Dudes were packing out their teeth in a ziploc bag.

must've been some UK bros... :)
