The fact that Palardy had the 2nd fastest 40 time speaks volumes about our program Imo.

Well said! I remember watching a game on TV last year and the announcer said the water boy was out running our DB's and that's about right.....

I'm sure this has to be wrong! We have NFL talent and SEC speed on defense according to some on VN.
Chill, Nancy. Nobody expected DL to run as fast as a WR/DB. Sapps time is not bad. Many quality LB's run in the 4.6-4.8 range. Teo is a good example, and there are many in the NFL today who don't run a 4.5.

Anybody catch these from pro day? Worn by Richardson, Stone, Fulton.

Maybe they were hoping the scouts would be blinded by the shoes and they wouldn't notice our "highly regarded" O-line couldn't knock anyone off the line of scrimmage.

This says all you need to know (or already knew) about about Doolittle.

Corey Miller - “The difference between playing under Coach Jones, and preparing for your future, playing under Coach Jones you are going to do exactly what’s expected of you,” said Miller. “You are going to get the job done because that’s what you are here to do, along with getting a college degree.”

Yea I never really take 40's that seriously, at least not compared to most others. It's more telling of a player to see what kind of break-away speed they have in actual games.

I've gotten an earfull on here for this same argument. Football isn't played in shorts and t-shirts, and in a straight line which is how the 40 is measured.

Football speed is much different. You can have a 4.6 guy with great instinct and technique play faster than a 4.4 guy . That's why you see a lot of 4.4 guys as returners and not really effective as RB's or WR's.

They had the worst of both worlds.

You can argue that the verticle jump is a waste, how often does a guy jump strait up, or bench press, still have yet to see a player laying down on his back push anyone off his chest. These events are tools to messure over all athletic ability.
