UT reaches out to Donnie Jones?

Thats a nice pic of you in your avatar. Glad you felt the need to bring up a january game to talk trash about. Makes about as much sense as me talking **** about beating Peyton Manning in 1996. Im sure our final second missed free throw to lose to Zona (a team that just humiliated the preseason consensus #1) was just as embarrasing as getting beat by 30 to the #6 team in the Big Ten. We never lost by 30 this season.

But cows be hatin' in the 865 dogg.... your athletic opinion coming from UM means squat.

You just bashed him for bringing up a game 2 months ago while simultaneously referring to a team's preseason ranking to make an argument.

And JP should get more moral victories. They're fun!

Duke is also a #1 seed in the tournament too and defending natonal champions

Once again, you can't bring up a game against Memphis two months ago, but a figurative game that Memphis never played against a team that won the national championship LAST year is fair game.

Ok, Memphis lost to #5 Arizona by 2 Tennessee lost to #8 Michigan by 30. That better?

I'm almost convinced that Memphis is the better team... If only there was some way to determine if one team was better than another one, a contest of sorts. I think they call them games.

A bunch of freshman playin their first ever true road game in a sold out arena in Knoxville. It didnt surprise me one bit they lost that game the way they did. We got a lot better at the end of the season. Cant wait for the rematch next year.

UT beat Memphis State. It's a reality, so you can deal with it or rationalize it. Think I know which way you're going.

I didnt bring it up. Memphis State still beat Peyton Manning too. I guess we were the better team then too.

Are there any other completely unrelated analogies you want to use to justify the ass-beating your team got?

A lot of teams play freshman, look at Kentucky.

Kentucky only plays three freshman. Knight plays the most minutes and followed by two upper classmen (Liggins, Miller) and then the other two freshman. 4 of their top 7 mpg players are upper classmen. Memphis plays 5 of 7 and the top 3 are all freshman.

Seeing how our team fell apart this season as the Pearl issues got worse and worse.....and you're on here for comic relief....I just think back to how bad our team was but was still able to produce this over Memphis...

01/05/11---VOLS vs. Memphis Tiger Cubs---Knoxville, Tenn. WIN 104-84

Enough said. That right there is:

Now that is comic relief.

The problem with your logic is, nationally, no one remembers a regular season game in January. What is seered into the national media and college basketball fans memory is what happens in the tourney in March.

Vols got blown out by an extremely mediocre Michigan team by 30 and 3 days later fired it's unethical coach. At the same time, Memphis, the youngest team in the tourney with the youngest coach in the tourney, loses at the buzzer to an Arizona team that has dominated 2 top 10 teams.

A loss in the first round is just that, a loss in the first round.

The people who follow things like him, so that's good. But I really hope this is just a backup plan in case Tech grabs Mooney and Carolina gets Marshall. And perhaps other bad things happen.

he would be a disaster of a hire, imo. If Buzz Williams doesn't go anywhere, which isn't likely (his buy out is 2.7 million I believe) then I could see Shaka Smart coming in. If Shaka falls through then it will be Marshall.
