Wilhoit's touchdown was the funniest thing I have seen in Tennessee football for awhile. Chavis was ticked at Fulmer for it, but everyone got a good laugh.

I see what you're saying, but pressure does that to QB's all the time. I just watched Vince Young lob one up for grabs. I'm not saying none of it is the QB's fault, Ainge definitely is still having growing pains. If worse comes to worse and Ainge isn't ready, then just put Crompton in and let's get ready for 2007.

Crompton played against the same defense that Ainge did but was considerably better.

I wouldn't blame everything on the QBs now. I'm sure the OL, WRs, and defense had something to do with the failures at the passing game from today. I think we ended up with 3 passing TDs and 3 ints on the day with over 50% accuracy so that isn't as horrible as it sounds especially considering how good our DBs can be.

It's just a scrimmage that the defense won.

"We came light years from the last scrimmage to this scrimmage," Mayo said. "We felt like we played a lot faster this time.

And Ainge was better than Crompton in the orange and white game.

Sounds to me like Bo played the best. Maybe we should start him against Cal.

You never know, maybe we could have a 4 QB rotation.

Yeah, they say he has a great arm. He might do well starting from scratch with Cutcliffe.

Crompton wasn't back 100% from shoulder surgery the previous year for the O & W game.

If the passing game doesn't get any better in the next week, I think Cut should install some option packages and work Lucas Taylor at QB running the option with Foster and Coker.

I heard Stephens is coming along pretty well. And don't forget about Cooter.

yeah, it sounded like Stephens might be the best prospect of the 3. His big handicap was his footspeed when he was being recruited I think. He can't be any slower then Casey Clausen though.

Ainge had a really bad headache today.

I think he should try reinstating Jim Bob Cooter and working him in the passing game just to get more fan involvement and crowd noise.

Coming in to this scrimmage I was already concerned about Cal game. I feel we will need to put 30+ points on the board to win. I was looking for anything that might encourage me, and found nothing offensively.

I fear that since our first scrimmage was poor, so will our first game. I still think we can and will win the East, but this Cal game has me concerned.

GO VOLS!!!

Man, a triple option with Taylor at QB, Foster at FB and Coker at RB could prove to be deadly.

"That is what we have seen in the past and that is not acceptable," Cutcliffe said of Ainge's play. "That is what we scrimmage for. Playing quarterback is sometimes as much about knowing when not too do something as there is when to do it. Obviously, I have not gotten that point across well enough yet."

Well. . . .this is not what ANY of us wanted to hear tonight. There is nothing settling about hearing that Ainge is up to the "same ole, same ole," after some serious training with Cut. It's almost as disturbing to think that we might be breaking in a new QB with early games against Cal and Florida. But, I say play the best guy, and if JC is the one, then go with it. Hurumph.

As for the aforementioned pass by Young in the second half of the Titans game: hauntingly familiar, to say the least.

No, he said he saw Crompton was playing well, and he was afraid Fulmer would start taking him out of games in order to play Crompton, and that was the reason he didn't play well.

I think that everyone feels that way after last season. Just keep breathing and hope for the best. That's all any of us can really do.

Yeah, I then bring in Holbert at FB and run the option.
