Well. . . .this is not what ANY of us wanted to hear tonight. There is nothing settling about hearing that Ainge is up to the "same ole, same ole," after some serious training with Cut. It's almost as disturbing to think that we might be breaking in a new QB with early games against Cal and Florida. But, I say play the best guy, and if JC is the one, then go with it. Hurumph.

I agree. Just because he's a freshman doesn't mean he can't be effective. We played two freshmen in 04, I think I could deal with Crompton if he was playing well.

"If I were you guys (media), I would raise the issue too. It is a situation that every position we are evaluating all the time. At quarterback it is always a controversy. At right tackle it is a competition. We are going to keep competition at all positions including quarterback. He (Ainge) has to play better then he played from a mistake standpoint. I am sure he is disappointed. He is doing many things well. We are not shaking up or changing anything at this stage based on one scrimmage. I evaluate every one of them every day. I grade every practice. They are all held accountable to perform."

The thing about Crompton's stats, they could have been MUCH better. He had several balls that were dropped and a couple of long ones that weren't "dropped" but really could have been caught.

the bad thing is our offence knew what the defence was going to do and could not stop them

i think our starter is going to be starting for ole miss this year

although i think our defence is going to be sec caliber they are not as good as last year
the sec is going to be brutal on that side of the ball we could have a top ten defence and
still be third or forth in the sec.ange will start the first three games that i know?

He's not the answer to any team's problems. We'll, perhaps a JUCO team.

if i'm thinking right they have two all-Pac 10 DBs one is even up for All american honors

Correct, Hughes and Mixon are studs. The weak link on their D is the LB corps. They have 1 great kid, and the others don't have a ton of experience.

Being a Pac 10 all conference DB isn't saying alot if everyone is throwing for 400 yards a game. That just say you gave up less than the others . I will still say they are the weak link.I will still take our recievers over them.

I think it says more about their talent, IMO.

Say all you want but Cal was below average in pass defense last season. Pre-season hype is just that, pre-season.

How was last year's first scrimmage? Was it bad too?
The first ones are never usually good for the offense.

There are a boatload of Pac 10 DBs in the League.
