UT under potential NCAA investigation for NIL

You are wrong. It has nothing to do with NIL activity.

It has to do with UT scheduling recruiting activities on an unofficial visit that was not paid for by a recruit’s family or legal guardian. Nico could have visited campus and that would have been fine. But once UT scheduled recruiting activities, it was against NCAA rules.

As I said, if he had a paid for choir competition in Knoxville, UT could not schedule recruiting activities. Unofficial visits have to be paid for by the recruit’s family. Otherwise it is an official visit. And Nico had an official visit two weeks later. Recruits can have only one official visit per school.
Oh stfu and leave. Spyre not UT paid for travel. If another entity say a 7 on 7 paid for travel and Nico came by to visit because he was already in Knoxville that's not ruled an official visit. Same scenario.

Wrong. Nico’s family did not pay for the trip. That is what is required under NCAA rules for an unofficial visit with planned recruiting activities.

Had there been no recruiting activities planned by UT then it would not matter.

Third parties cannot be involved in paying for any trip that also are an unofficial visit with recruiting activities.
Nico signed a deal with spyre in February. In March he was an employee of Spyre. Spyre is allowed to fly their employees in a private jet. Just because he ended up at Tennessee is irrelevant. Tennessee did not orchestrate the visit. Spyre gave their employee a plane ride to Knoxville and he just so happened to visit the campus while he was there. Which is allowed

Edit: your a Missouri fan anyway so why don’t you get off the board if your gonna spew stuff you know nothing about

When you SIGN a financial agreement with an entity, then the by-product is part of COMPENSATION. You have to tie a SEPARATE activity…such as an unofficial visit into that. If that was a private jet ARRANGED by the university, your point would have merit. Say they took money from Spyre, bought a SUV and DROVE to Knoxville? That “third party” also? Same thing!

Spyre paid for the trip for business reasons not for the official visit. That's allowed. He just didn't have to pay for the trip since he was already there. UT knows this and any claim by the ncaa would go against state law

Oh boy, Missouri, how come we aren’t talking about them? Their whole state law is setup so you can get NIL money early if you agree to go to the in-state school?

Your timeline is wrong. Nico signed with Spyre on March 11, 2022 five days after the unofficial visit. Two weeks after signing with Spyre, he was at UT for an official visit and announced his commitment to UT.

That trip was Spyre recruiting Nico as well as UT recruiting Nico.

The problem is the UT part was done against NCAA rules on unofficial visits.

The 8 million dollar contract was leaked in early March meaning the deal was done sooner than that. And everyone knows that 8 million dollar quarterback was Nico. So guess what buddy. The contract was signed in February. You really think Tennessee would go through all this trouble if they didn’t have the Nico contract lined up. Go back to your cave where you belong

Nico didn’t sign with Spyre until the following week.

Care to show where he signed in march?

Just a quick google has articles saying he “inked” a deal before your timeline..

Nope. It was leaked on March 11, 2023. The exact day he signed.

Somebody already gave the timeline…and it’s immaterial. It was on THEIR dime…not UT’s. So unless you’re trying to portend that Spyre can’t use their OWN RESOURCES to woo a CLIENT? Then add this to the lengthening list of facts you’re on the wrong side of. 😅 And free tip since you’re not a fan of our program and lurk infrequently only when it’s opportune to troll? One of YOU has never talked one of US into giving up and supporting another program…We’re VOLUNTEERS for this shizz! 😎

Link it up.
Bro I think it’s funny that you come out of retirement just during investigations into Tennessee. No eveidence no opinion just trying to stir stuff up. Also where is your prove you know the exact date Nico signed? Funny thing is nobody knows that date but the university and they feel pretty damn confident nothing has been done wrong in the Nico case

Sure, Spyre can. But UT can’t host with recruiting activities when the trip was being paid for by anyone other than Nico’s family. That is the part you keep ignoring. The actual rules around unofficial visits.

UT Compliance has a document the coaching staff must submit where who paid for the trip was documented by the player and the coach acknowledging that he/she has no knowledge of anyone else paying.
