UT vs. Marshall Game Thread

Has anybody noticed how many fans ARENT there today??? It's dissapointing to see the stadium not sold out.

Yeah I was like WTF surely they are walking around waiting out the rain. Then the game started and nothing :( but with more storms to come what else could they do.

Who gives a CRAP about polls right now?!?!?!
this team is not out of anything...it's the polls that determine your destiny and your eventual legacy...I care about the polls, so should you, and I guarantee you this team does.

There seriously are TRAVEL issues inside the city right now. I live on Concord, and the creek has taken over that street. You have to understand how bad the weather has been.

The point being, is if this team wins out, they'll have wins over UGA, 'bama, LSU, and the eventual West Champion. If we manage that, the polls won't be a problem.

anybody else hoping for some upsets this weekend? after last weekend i really thought there would be a couple of teams not focused. except for tennessee of course

104,000 + seats were sold for today's game, but Knoxville got 3 + inches of rain before the game...that's flash flood-like rains, and I'm not surprised a lot of people didn't make it.

I've been defending Cory Anderson since last year, but I think I'm done with that now. Is anybody watching him play? He just refuses to throw a block. It looks on most plays like he's not making an effort to do anything. Put Holbert in, maybe he'll at least try.

agreed, and I didn't mean any disrespect...I just mean that the polls fuel everything! We don't need to drop any more.

Here are two great questions to keep you occupied during halftime. There have been many great former UT players to come back to Neyland stadium to pump up the team usually during big games. I remember Al Wilson doing this several times. There are two controversial former players who I think would not be welcomed back which leads to my two questions. #1) Would Cedric Wilson ever come back to give a pep talk to the receivers? Remember a couple of years ago he said that the coaching he got with the San Francisco 49ers was far superior than what he received at UT. Did the 49ers even have a winning record when Ced was there? #2) Would Jamal Lewis ever come back to inspire the RBs. Remember he was pretty much ran out of UT after his Junior year. I think he would have rather put in another year to boost his draft probability, but the fans wanted Traphis Henry as the starter. I was at the last home game in '99 against Vandy. I remember T. Henry diving over the goal line and landing on his head and he never returned to the game. When Jamal Lewis came in, the fans booed and I'm sorry to say that I was one of them. I think that was the last straw for JL. He got the message and bolted.

 I understand the frustration with winning and still dropping in the polls though. :good!:
