You are correct my 20 tooth, mullet sporting friend. All of our Final Fours and Elite 8s have made me feel vastly inferior.

Folks that live in "towns" are always quick to point out crime in Memphis. What you hillbillies don't realize is EVERY MAJOR CITY has a crime problem (yes, even Nashville which is ranked as #7 on list of most dangerous cities with populations over 500,000).

If crime is such an issue with you back woods folks, for God's sake don't take your family to see any of the following: The White House or any National monuments, the St. Louis arch, Disneyworld, the SEC Championship Game (if Vols make it again), Empire State building or a Broadway show, INdependence Square, any NFL games (except for Green Bay), any Major League Baseball games, etc.
You know what, contrary to your opinion, you're not funny and your presence here is not mandatory. Feel free to go back to the mouth breathing Memphis boards any time you get a chance. Memphis' Final Fours and Elite Eights aren't impressive to a huge number of elite basketball programs around the country (not to mention the failures in all of those tournaments heretofore mentioned)

The Tigers post play right now is godawful. Taggert is struggling to make a 2 foot shot. Tigers played most of the second half of the UAB game with a 4 guard setup with Dozier int he middle, though I think that was mostly to match up with what Mike Davis was throwing out there. I do think the tigers are playing as good, if not better, than they have all year. Willie Kemp has been getting much better offensively and defensively and more importantly his confidence is the highest it has been all year. He seems to be playing more like his freshman year.

Problem is, the Tigers only had two fast break points against the Blazers.

And this is the wall that you constantly hide behind. Very sad - you're a broken record.

Folks that live in "towns" are always quick to point out crime in Memphis.

If by "folks that live in towns" you mean "basically everyone who knows anything about Memphis," then yes, I agree. It's not like it makes it onto all of the undesirable crime lists by coincidence, right?

*Useless bloviating about other dangerous cities, which doesn't take away from the fact that Memphis has an extraordinary amount of crime. Also, a mention of Major League Baseball.*

Go Cards!

…the SEC Championship Game (if Vols make it again)…

I guess I forgot when the Vols last made a trip to the SECCG. What was the year? Pretty long ago if I'm remembering correctly, right?

Speaking of Conference Championship games how many has Memphis been to here lately?

My step-dad's family (now he and my mother) are from Savannah. They went to the same church in Adamsville as Buford. I met him once when I was young. He gave me an autographed axe handle of some sort. He was a huge man.

I did not know that they started charging to get in, I dont know if they always do that. His daughter, Dawana, once had a diner(Pussers) but it had changed ownership and is not Pussers anymore.

If Memphis' accomplishments aren't impressive as you say, then imagine how utterly insignificant Vol BB is.

Making the Final Four is not a "failure". Many programs, your sorry one included, would give anything for that "failure". Just look at how you fools get all giddy over the WOMEN's Final Four.

Try this definition for "failure". I'm the State's Flagship University, have been playing BB for 100 years, and have NEVER been one of the last 8 teams playing in the NCAA tournament. Christ, UAB has only been playing D-1 BB for 30 years and has managed to make a few Elite 8s.

Again, why don't you take your unfounded and pathetic holier than thou attitude to a Memphis board. At least Tennessee has two national championships in football, y'all got squat. The Kansas', Kentuckys, North Carolinas, Dukes, and so on and so on of the basketball world laugh at y'alls almost won something bravado.

So much for talking about this Saturday's game.

We get it, Memphis is full of gun-toting thugs and east Tennessee is full of moon pie eating rednecks. Move on.

*sigh* C'mon man lighten up, it's just a game.

I've got to agree here Cal , man if you've quoted Memphis's accomplishment once , you've done it 15 times . What are you trying to accomplish . No one on the Vols site wants to hear you tell them that the TIGERS have done a little more in the post season , not even me . GIVE IT A REST :crossfingers:

westtvol's keys to the game:
1. Aviod Turnovers and easy buckets for the Tigers.
2. Play a little D, we can not let Tyreke or Anderson or Dozier score 20 or 30 on us.
3. We do not need to take over 10-15 3's, we need to be about 5-11 from 3, Tatum needs to take about 4, Maze 2, Woolridge 2, Hopson 4 or 4.
4. Scotty Hopson has to play like he did on Saturday, not relying on the 3, but driving to the basket.
5. Just win baby, I really dont care what we do as long as we win.

Chism and Williams need to play a big role as well. Taggert and Niles have not had great games lately and Taggert looked frustrated that his shot was not falling in the UAB game.

Conversely, Memphis needs to grab a good amount of offensive boards......especially when the Black Hole (Doneal Mack) starts shooting. Luckily for Memphis, the defense "should" keep them in the game until their offense starts going if they start out slow.

Anderson also needs to help Cal keep some of the hot heads (especially Sallie) in the game and not let them get as riled up as they did in the UAB game. In an environment like TBA, they need as cool of tempers as possible.

Aren't we getting carried away. Where's the Vandy thread. That game is much more important than the Memphis game.
