UT vs Ol Miss in the SEC championship!

Listen, I love the idea of whupping the Ole Miss Rebels, or whatever they call themselves these politically correct days.

But we owe Bama a LOOOOOT of payback. If we're able to hit them in the face twice in one year, that just speeds up the process.

Let's get on that. So I'm cheering for Saban to smack Kiffin down next week.

Go Vols!

Ol Miss goes undefeated. We go undefeated. We meet Kiffin in Atlanta and get ALL the monkeys off our back in 1 season. Book it. All of the wrongs will be se right.

If that is the case, Ole Miss and Tennessee would wind up in the playoff as well. Cause that means 12-0 Tenn 12-0 Ole Miss 11-1 Georgia 10-2 Bama.

Doubt 11-1 UGA would get the 4 spot over loser of SEC title

That would be a fairy tale. So, what happens if we lose to Georgia and Bama beats them in the SEC title game?

12-1 Bama - SEC Champ
12-1 Georgia - SEC Runner-up
11-1 Vols

Do all three make the playoffs??

No shot. There is no scenario where we make the playoff at the 4 spot if Bama is a one loss conference champ over Georgia.

Especially with Clemson, Michigan/OSU, and a potential undefeated Big 12 team. SEC will most likely have 2 teams but no way there is room for 3

SEC champ will be top 2 seed. 3/4 spot will be a one loss SEC team. It’s just a matter if it’s the loser or the UGA/Tenn game of a one loss League Champ

If we can beat Bama, we can dang sure beat UGA. I think Bama is better than UGA. We know our offense will ring up any defense in the country and UGA's offense is nowhere near as capable as bama's.
Agreed. Bennett does not make the plays that Brice Young makes last night.

If you beat UGA and win the SECCG, you are certainly in. UGA at 11-1 is probably in. If you lose to UGA, and UGA wins the CECCG, you are in.

That’s not the question.

There is no scenario where the SEC gets 3 teams.

The loser of the Tenn/UGA game will be in the playoff if the winner wins in Atlanta. If Bama wins in Atlanta, the loser of Tenn/UGA at 11-1 will be left out of the playoff.

No way. You have mostly likely Ohio St. unless Michigan beats them, that’s one team. The X factor is Clemson because they won’t leave out an undefeated Clemson team imo. So now that’s two, the sec will two and that’s it

What was so enjoyable last night was that neither team resorted to flopping to slow the other team down. Both teams played each other straight up and traded punches all night. (Kudos to Saban for not resorting to Kiffin’s low class tactic). If we do happen to get Ole Miss, play us straight up Lane or stay the F at home.

I think 3 spots are settled already.

Winner of SEC
Clemson
Winner of Ohio State / Michigan

The fourth spot is the toss up. Right now I think there are like 4 teams left in play, Tennessee/UGA loser, Bama, TCU, Ole Miss.

Now dissecting those above:

TCU if 12-0 will likely replay OSU in league title game. I personally don't see Big 12 having undefeated team, but would be ironic if they did given Texas / OU plans to leave.
Bama and Ole Miss play each other. Bama wins, Ole Miss is out. Ole Miss wins, Bama is out as they'd have 2 losses.

Tennessee and UGA's floor now is 11-1 with winner being 12-0 in regular season.

The loser of Tennessee vs UGA will get that 4th spot if the winner goes on to win the SEC Title. I think the one exception would be if Ole Miss somehow ran table to be 12-0 and loses. Could a 12-1 Ole Miss team get in after losing in Atlanta over a 11-1 UGA/Tenn loser?

The only tomfoolery I could see is if Michigan beats Ohio State and the committee has to decide on a 11-1 UGA/Tenn loser and 11-1 Ohio State assuming the winner of UGA/TENN wins the SEC.

Would not surprise me if Ole Miss loses at least 2 of their last 5 games.

LSU, A&M, Bama, Arkansas and MSU

I personally think Ole Miss goes 10-2 at worst, 11-1 at best. I think Bama game could be close, but I don't think Ole Miss will be able to run on them and shorten the game like they are capable of.

I'd be shocked if Mississippi beats bama.

I wouldn't be surprised. For all justifiable grief we give the Kiff, he's a really good coach. Further, his fondest desire is to plunge the knife into Saban and twist it. He's dead set on achieving that goal, cause deep down he utterly dislikes how Saban treated him. The ass chewing incident caught on video, and how he was dismissed from attending and coaching his offense at the NCS game due to accepting, I think, the FAU HC position. He's going to have his boys ready, and Bama better bring their "A" game or get buried.
