the points in the paint were good. our defense was suspect but that's no surprise. Too many fouls and turnovers...patterson played well as did loften and watson...chris needs to shoot more in the second half.

either way, good half by the vols. need to straighten up in some spots, but heck we are winning and that is all that matters. need to make a charge here in the second half and shut up some people.

this game is too tight to be comfortable. it can go either way at this point. not what anyone was hoping for.

Some defensive breakdowns, and Winthrop is good, as advertised. Best #15 seed I've seen, I'll give them that.

Vols have played fairly well IMO. Shooting 55%. Offensive rebounds are killing the Vols. Also we've shot only 2 ft to Winthrops 10.

But as I expected, Winthrop is pretty good. They're only shooting 41% and are only down 2.

Watch out in the second half.

I with you I'm glad we're winning but I was hoping to close stronger and have a 7-9 point lead at the half.

No surprise that the crowd favors Winthrop. - Most people pull for the underdog. So that means all those Duke fans are probably cheering for Winthrop. - not to mention the proximity of Winthrop to Greensboro, not sure how well their fans travel, tho'

but overall, we played well. I hope we can just run winthrop out of the building in the second half. you never know though, you just never know.

why are you guys down so much that we are only up 2? it doesnt matter how much you win by, just win and advance. thats all we have to do.
