No Huddle,Up tempo, Read Option...
How successful do you think our new high speed offense is gonna be in the SEC?

I'm curious because Oregon's size in the championsip game compared to Auburn was a huge factor. But, with SEC Size and speed, i'm curious to see how good it can be, as UT is traditionally a pro style offense.

If UT can create the mis-matches they're looking for on 2nd and 3rd downs they may be just fine. Isn't that what an up-tempo O wants to do...not allow for substitution?

It is not nearly as much read option as Oregon. There will be some, but not like Oregon. We are going for that tempo though.

This^ The similarity will be in tempo only. Play selection will be more what we are used to seeing. Try to keep their defense on the field and wear them out. Seems like Auburn was running something similar when Kiffy was here. I remember us having to take time outs just to catch our breath.

The very last sentence is the point of our offense. We need to go so fast where slow defenses can't catch up.

Yes.. That's how Oregon pulled away from us in the second half

I don't think the play selection will be that similar being we are going to be a run first offense. There well be a lot of screens and plays where the O-line will have to get down the field to block.

Looking at Cincinatti highlights they do run a lot of read option and read option play action passes. I don't think it will be as much as Oregon's, but it is a lot.

The success of this offense is heavily dependent on the Quarterback. Cam Newton and Johnny Manziel thrived in this type of offense.

It will look more like A&M than oregon....UT, AU, UK, Mizzou, Ole Miss, A&M all run fast up tempo offense in the SEC...kinda up tempo is Miss State

So well score a ton and get shut down by sec opponents? ****

Oregon pulled away from us because talent took over. Pretty simple.

We were just as talented in the starting 2.. Once we ha to go beyond that, we had nothing..

U see talent from the get go, and then u see talented depth and team stamina

As a general principle, I agree that happens often. But I think they had a little more team speed . I think we agree more than we disagree.

Completely agree. Limited read option, more prostyle. Spread has more to do with formations. Definitely up tempo and no huddle. Lets just hope they have similar success as Oregon.

Even when Cincy had a less mobile quarterback, Butch would use him on calculated rush situations. I noticed that during the Belk Bowl..I bet Tyler Bray would've picked up a few first downs in 4th and 1 situations...as opposed to...none

It will look nothing like Oregons offense besides the read option....Oregon uses west coast passing concepts. We are still using pro style passing concepts. Oregon is a finesse team that want to beat you on the perimeter. CBJ has demaded physicality time and time again. Just because we are in shotgun more doesn't automatically make us Oregon, no matter how fast the ball moves downfield.

In fact, Butch has almost taken offense to description of his offense as a "spread" attack, because of the finesse typically associated with that term.
