The game after the swamp and the week before the cocks and espn believes they are one of the top group of 5 teams in the country. I absolutely know we are leaps and bounds better and should win easily but man that game just has trap game written all over it.

I have my final therapy session for my bvs this Tuesday might feel better after that lol

Regardless thank the lord football is back and Go big Orange 🍊

The casual fan will see or hear UTSA and say we steamroll them. They are good, and they will test us.

Good grief get your head out of the Butch Jones era. There is absolutely NOTHING UTSA brings to the table that should make you even flinch. Those days of us worrying about inferior teams is over.

They probably hang around for a bit due to their QB. He is VERY good and could cause us problems if we can't keep him inside the pocket. Overall we should win handily. Our SEC depth will definitely wear them thin through the entirety of the game.
This is our advantage.
They will wear down like our starters during the tenures of our 3 prior coaches.

UTSA is a very good team and I expect them to give us hell for a while. Especially their QB vs our DBs. If we turn the ball over a bunch of times this could go to the wire. If UT doesn’t make turnovers and etc then we should pull away in the third qtr.

Or said differently, VOLS by FIDDY.

Virginia is a toss-up, UTSA will challenge us, South Carolina whupped our asses last year, Florida is always a headache, Bama and UGa are out of our league, A&M is going to bounce back and we won't be able to hold them down, Kentucky is better than everyone thinks, and Mizzou is going to surprise people this year.

To listen to some of our fellow Vols fans, we'll be lucky to get beyond 3-9 in 2023.

Listen: 8-4 is our floor. From now on. As long as Josh Heupel is here, it will never go worse than that. 12-0 is our ceiling with Josh.

So think games through as if you're trying to make them fit in something between 8-4 and 12-0.

Go Vols!

It is a concern only if our D is bad.

Every game except Peay and Conn concerns me. That's just football.

I feel great about Milton and this team, and special teams could be even better than last season. But this is also the first time this program has started a season with a target on their backs, and defensive coordinators have had time and motivation to take this offense seriously.

Our offensive line could be better as a unit, but we lost some serious individual talent. How will that play out?

We have added more talent to the D-line, but most of it is young, and until I see our defensive backfield in coverage, I can't say that we have remedied the factors that helped SC hang one on us.

There are not many easy dates in this year's schedule. For sure, one of them is not UTSA.

They are undoubtedly in the top half of teams we’ll face, difficulty-wise. They’ll be a tougher contest than Virginia or Vandy, but Heupel doesn’t seem the type to overlook anyone. Should be a good game, and a Vols W.

No they aren’t. They aren’t as good as UGA, TAMU, UF, SC, UK, Bama or Missouri.

I bet that is not prep week speech by our staff.

I am sure it won’t be but there is nothing to worry about with UTSA. These comments remind me of the Butch era when we were worried about Utah State. We are vastly superior to them in every way and that includes QB.

I think they're probably as good as Missouri is, who did actually manage to hang around with us last year for awhile. Texas beat them by 21 at home last year. I think we'll probably do the same or higher. They deserve our full respect, but we should handle business.

They were 14th in scoring but played a terrible schedule. The only game they played last year against a team even semi close to Tennessee was Texas and they lost 41-20.
