Just my opinion but him being at RB will just be for spring with Small and Wright out. Id imagine he'd go to WR for the fall. I feel he'd see the field sooner there. Doesn't matter to me, just want him out there!

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we don’t see much of him early on. I think as a freshman with the skill players we already have the most ideal situation would be to bring him in on 10-15 plays a game at different positions in 2-3 play spirts at a time. However with the tempo we run I don’t think that is possible. It will be extremely hard to keep Bru, Keyton, or Squirrel off the field for an entire series in favor of a true freshman. Unless he’s the second coming of Julio Jones or Percy Harvin I just don’t see him coming in and being a massive part of this offense early on in the season. Not only does he have to get used to the speed of other players in college, but he also has to get used to the speed that our own offense operates at. Now by the 4th or 5th game I could definitely see it happening. I personally think him playing RB exclusively as a freshman is his best way to get on the field early and maybe flex him out some to get him the ball in space quickly. If he works all spring and summer on pass pro the rest comes relatively natural and is more reactive than anything. Then his sophomore year I think they start using him more at WR with Keyton and Bru gone. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him though. Having a guy like him (and Ethan Davis) unlocks a lot of 5 wide sets while maintaining that 11 personnel we like to stay in throughout drives. Which adds a completely different dimension to the offense. I just hope our fans as well as him are patient with the process. Because he’s my favorite offensive skill position prospect that we’ve landed since Marquez Callaway

I would advise him to temper his expectations this coming year. I don’t want him to get discouraged or upset if he doesn’t see the field much as a Freshman. He’s gonna be great. We’ve see many players thrive and put up huges numbers after a year or two in this system

The achievement is being selected to play. Actually playing isn't worth anything and is just an opportunity to get hurt. "All star" football games have always been pointless to me.

If they’re paying for your transportation to and from Hawaii, I’d take the free trip all day. If he gets to bring y’all I’d definitely go and bring the family. (If transportat and a good chunk of hotel is paid for by them).

Depends on who foots the bill tbh. Free trip, talk up other players, portal makes recruiting 24/7, to maybe come enjoy the fruits of Tennessee football.

But at the same time, I'm sure he loves the game, loves to play, etc. I played soccer at a decent level and I'd be pissed to go practice and not play in a game before college (where it matters).

I think expectation is the key here. If you go into it as a free trip to hawaii then it's all good. Go in expecting to play, has a chance to disappoint.

It’s definitely an admirable goal to want to get a leg up on learning the playbook and working out. However, a free vacation in Hawaii is also nice and you get to work with Nico so that’s what I would consider.

Yeah I would include a conversation with Nico and any other Vol recruit going as well. See what their thoughts are. Nico is able to travel so I would expect him to be there regardless, but does he plan on playing? Are they on the same team?

What if he went to connect with some players and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii and brought them Tennessee playbook with him to study, and then mysteriously “sprained his ankle” on the way to play in the game and had to sit it out?

I'd would go just for the trip to Hawaii, plus. . . very few players are selected for all-american type of games. Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.

If it were my son or nephew and he wasn’t excited about the game or the trip, I wouldn’t press him to participate. If it’s a free trip to Hawaii, that’s cool. But he doesn’t owe the Bowl or anyone associated with it anything.

Although I know the last game was frusterating, it has no bearing on this one. We can only control what we control and I hate to see him miss a opportunity due to things out of his control(last game). I know their are other considerations such as time/travel/etc...Just let him know we are proud and support him regardless!

Although I know the last game was frusterating, it has no bearing on this one. We can only control what we control and I hate to see him miss a opportunity due to things out of his control(last game). I know their are other considerations such as time/travel/etc...Just let him know we are proud and support him regardless!
