Not trying to be a jerk to BigOrangeTrain but this is just a pet peeve of mine, but your statement should have read “I couldn’t care less about your age…” No I’m not an English professor but it seems so many people say this wrong nowadays. This way, you are saying I literally have no more F’s to give. Carry on!Cool man. Your opinion is duly noted David. But in all honesty message boards are all about opinions. I have voiced mine about Banks many times. And will continue to do so. And if Banks plays great this year and proves me wrong? I will definitely come on here and eat crow. I have done it many times before. I could care less about your age or what you think you know or don’t know.
We prob did lead, until the family huddle intervened. Now that being said, Francis to the Canes was a huge kick in the nuts. I felt like we led for Mauigua for a little while now and I expected him to pick the good guys. Honestly going into yesterday, it kind of felt like we were the OSU in the Tate recruitment. I felt like he wanted to go to Tennessee but Miami was throwing cash at him. I know each recruitment is it’s own animal, but I just don’t feel good about Cameron’s at this point. Perhaps it’s my BVS acting up, but I am fully prepared for him to pick Ped State on the 7th. Some of you will say I need to get over the FM pick yesterday and it has nothing to do with Cam and perhaps you’re right. But like some other posters have said, I fully expect PSU to offer a bag of cash late and make a final push. I expect us to feel good about our chances and have the rug swept out from under us for a player that is not just a game changer but a roster and season changer. Cameron is the type of player that can change the entire season. Just think what Florida would have been like without the healthy Percy Harvin. We need this one bad!!

Agreed. He said we were in a good spot, which we were until Miami offered what we wouldn’t want to spend on an OL when we have many other needs to address. I’m hoping and believing we get Seldon. Huge thank you @Plove23 for all the info you have brought to this board. Whether Seldon chooses us or not, you have been a stand up individual the entire time. Best wishes to the kid. That’s not true he was definitely unsure
We just need momentum.Seldon would go a long way in assuaging my angst over our big time misses. A long way.
My soul needs this.
We need OL, but, I think this staff is just as content on finding right guy in portal. They have a specific type they're looking for, and honestly a guy who's demanding $4 per isnt that.As fast as we go in this offense, we just need a couple athletic Tackles to go with some skill players on the outside. We can develop some road grading Guards/inside OL. I still think our main focus over the next couple of classes is solidifying the defensive side with some elite pass rushers/LBs.
Offense jumps out ahead on teams, defense pins the ears back and gets after the QB.
That's what people need to understand before deciding NIL is underfunded and a lost cause. They have to be careful how much they give any one player because it sets expectations for every other player. If they give a OL 2-4 mil a year, that sets the bar for what everyone else will expect. From a whole-team perspective it's better to miss out on a couple of guys and keep things manageable to build a class. We need OL, but, I think this staff is just as content on finding right guy in portal. Anyway I liked your post. I think it makes a ton of sense.
Not really. It isn’t like Spyre didn’t try to land the kid. Price tag just got too much. If we landed FM and paid 4 million to do it I would’ve been pissed honestly and I’m not sure Miami would’ve stopped there.AP said if we miss on Maui, you need to worry.
I think if we miss on Seldon, we need to worry.
That will be a large enough sample size that something is going on. Spyre, White, negativity whatever.

It's a bit different animal when Seldon can see spec how he will be used in this offense. the game on the other side (NFL) has tangible value based on results, ie body of work. Which this coaching staff can show.
Agree (with both your post & @BigOrangeFanatic), but I'm not sure FM was a demanding type recruit (like Nolen if previous info true), I think he really likes TN but Miami offered an "insane" (@matts42012 description) amount of $ that they just couldn't turn down. I can't fault someone for choosing life-changing money, nor do I think Spyre should've tried to compete with it.We need OL, but, I think this staff is just as content on finding right guy in portal. Ok, when the family sat down to make a final deci$ion. You’ve said this a couple times, “…until the family intervened.” What does that mean? Francis’ family was involved from the beginning. It’s like, THE thing we know about him, his family, his Samoan culture, etc. By all accounts ours was the family’s favorite visit. Just seems like a really weird insinuation.
Lol you're probably the same guy that thinks Henry T was awesome for us cause he did a little better in coverage despite running away from Najee Harris in '20 and having less tackles for Bama than J Banks had for us last year. Banks is still learning the position, correct me if I'm wrong but this is only his 2nd or 3rd year playing LB isn't it?Banks can teach him how to get penalized, how not to contain a QB and how to get torched in pass coverage.
Dude if someone is offering my kid a million a year for four years I’m intervening. I love Tennessee and would always want my kids to choose them if it’s close and they’re comfortable with the environment but that’s life changing money that can set up a young person for the future. You’ve said this a couple times, “…until the family intervened.” What does that mean? The family may have liked the Tennessee visit the best...but the deciding factor ended up being money. I don't think there's anything wrong with that in this case. His parents probably don't have a lot and now can move to the US and be well off. The decision was all about taking care of the family. You’ve said this a couple times, “…until the family intervened.” What does that mean? Francis’ family was involved from the beginning.
