I still don’t get how people are misreading that post.

To clarify: my point was that whenever we miss on a recruit, the disappointment and negativity spreads to essentially every player thread. And it’s annoying.
 
Agree with both of you, I was pushing back against the idea Francis was left alone to figure out his recruitment, fell in love with UT, then the family swooped in at the last minute and vetoed his choice. It’s just not the read I had on his recruitment.

That's what people need to understand before deciding NIL is underfunded and a lost cause. They have to be careful how much they give any one player because it sets expectations for every other player. If they give a OL 2-4 mil a year, that sets the bar for what everyone else will expect. From a whole-team perspective it's better to miss out on a couple of guys and keep things manageable to build a class.
I was just about to post this. Give one OL recruit $4 mil and then tell the others they're chopped liver. How does that work out?
