'24 VA LB Chris Cole (uga commit)

This is exactly what I heard. UGa had really been putting pressure on him.
Georgia has been putting the squeeze on him to get in. It had turned off him and the family. They were feeling Tennessee coming out of the trip, so coupled with the squeeze I felt good.

I caveated unless we see crystal balls coming in soon because Georgia has a compelling pitch and when they put the screws to you most kids can’t resist. Steve doesn’t speculate, he only goes when he knows something.. so he must know something here. Could always change but obviously not great

Word around SWVa is UT gained a ton of momentum. A TON. The family absolutely loves this entire staff especially our head coach. Both his family and Lewis family feel exactly the same. Peyton loves the idea of them rooming together as well. School starts soon here and he's not wanting to be pressed to make a decision and UGa is all over him to do so. Also, could end up being a 5 star according to a local coach here I know well.
So has this changed in your opinion? Sounded like you believed he didn't want to be pushed, UGA did exactly that, and now he's trending that way. Did we lose all that positive momentum?

Upside is this isn’t an impending commit this week. A month and some change away from a decision means this can be fluid. Fong and Dohn probably got info from the UGA source (likely Rusty) and he’s been saying Dawg since before and after Cole’s UT visit.

My guess is the big swings are coming next. With Perlotte flipping to FSU likely soon the Kirbster has been pushing hard here for the backfill. He’s lost two linebackers in 2 weeks so he’s gonna swing hard on Cole. If everyone on our side can talk the kid down we can either get him to push his commitment so we lock in an OV or just flip him in the boat. Could shape up to be a photo finish like Solomon.

Fong puts in a CB the same day that a kid announces his commitment date….. it’s over. 😞😭
I hope it doesn't have more to do with his handler rather than himself. UGA has definitely been known to influence handlers. Still hoping for good news.
