Georgia will always recruit in the top 10 at absolute worst. That is really not the point. A crappy culture can only last so long before something very bad happens. Would you rather have Kirby or Hype as your head coach at UT right now? I do not think Kirby could navigate the situation Hype was handed and made as much progress to this point. I think Hype is younger and way more intelligent and genuine than Smart. I know they have won back to back championships and that is ALL that matters to some, but I bet Hype could have won back to back at UGA the last 2 seasons and I'll bet that Smart could not have sniffed double digit wins in year 2 in Knoxville given the situation UT football was in. Just my two cents. I also love the fact that I do not worry every single off season about who will be ineligible or get into major trouble. That is worth a ton in my mind at least. I think UGA fans although they know they have superior talent every year, they have to worry about the culture and who will be arrested or get into trouble next. Some people do not care one bit and the above is a mute point, but there is a large group of people and fans that want something different than what is going on in Athens.

Al Davis and the Raiders right? When was the last time they won the superbowl or were even competitive? I know its NFL vs NCAA success but either way, you eventually pay the price for sacrificing your soul and moral compass. I am in the minority here concerning UGA but I am happy with our coach, recruting, culture, and future success.

He does updates about where the 5 top of the board recruits are likely leaning. Recent one had Okoye and Cole as Tennessee. I just hope the NIL handler thing for Cole isn’t so impactful. I know we crush the money game but everything we’ve heard around Cole sounds like he’s looking for any reason to come to Knoxville. Teammate relationship with Lewis, the families being close, and our staff giving them the warm and fuzzies makes me feel like Cole is ours to lose.

Glad you explained that about Saleapaga-- there's not a lot of coverage out there on him but most all of what I've seen is pro-UT

Make the case: Tennessee was the most recent visit for Cole and seemingly has some momentum coming out of the visit. He and linebackers coach Brian Jean Mary have rapidly built a nice rapport with each other. The distance from Salem, Virginia is the closest of any school that is a legitimate factor with Cole and his high school teammate Peyton Lewis is committed to Tennessee.
Take: By no means are things done for Cole but I’ve talked to enough people to feel like the Vols have left a big impression for him and can easily be his choice over Georgia, Miami and others. The Bulldogs and Canes are going to keep pushing but Tennessee has certainly made a push in this one.
