Every game is a showcase. Huepel doesn’t have a final 4 appearance or a state with UGAs talent. That means every visit and every touchpoint with top 100 players matter. TN didn’t live up to that yesterday. We either have a standard or we don’t. We want to be on GA’s level, then stop qualifying poor performances, and yesterday was, with excuses.
It sucks to come in second, obviously but this is really important in the transfer portal era. You never know what might happen in the future.Man, my info was off surrounding Cole’s visit. I really though we’d land him. Turns out, Cole knew he was committing to uga but came on the visit because Lewis asked him to give us one last look. So he visited out of respect to his friend. He told the coaches and they still wanted him to come. He did really enjoy his visit. USC offered a significant bag, but the development at uga won out. The way the coaches handled this has us sitting soundly in second, so if there was a change of heart or a portal entry in the future, we are well positioned.
Cole has really good athleticism, can cover well and he reacts and gets downhill quickly. 40 times say he is a step slow and probably needs to add 15 pounds while getting a little faster to play at a high level in the SEC. High football IQ. Doubt we see much of him his first two years at uga. Will he have the patience to grind it out? Not a bad thing to finish second.

Kirby has one loss the last 7 seasons to a team that wasn't good enough to make a NY6 bowl, 2019 USCe. Every other team they've lost to, other than his first year, was a pretty good football team. Honestly that is a level I'd like to get to, where you have to be a pretty good football team to beat the Vols. Think how much better last year would have been if we just held serve and beat USCe. We'd have probably been in the playoffs. We can just enjoy where we are currently as a program. This is the best part. Fighting, scratching, clawing for wins. Close games. Underdogs vs the programs that currently set the “standard”.
I’ll take every W. Ugly or not.
Speaking of, that UGA program you want to be so bad had ugly losses to lesser teams before they eventually broke through.
In 2020, they were smoked by FL.
In 2019, they lost to USCe.
In 2018, they had 3 losses.
In 2017, they were smoked by AUB.
In 2016, they were 8-5.
That's hasn't really proved to be true up to this point other than highly ranked QB's that were beat out repeatedly by a former walk-on QB. Everybody loses some players to the portal, but it's not like Georgia has been losing a ton of guys.I believe we will see a good number of these UGA commits in the transfer portal within the next 2 yrs. When playing time isn’t what they thought it would be.

Pretty sure every ranking for worst fanbase that I see is Tennessee/Ohio State at #1 and #2. As for coach, Kirby has a long way to go to catch Fulmer. My hatred for UGA far exceeds my hatred for Bama. Bama was the standard and for almost a decade. UGA just out talents everyone and acts like they've always been a juggernaut. Worst fanbase and coach in college sports.

This is very wishful thinking. Georgia has lost some players to the portal but outside of AD Mitchell (transfered for family) and Bear Alexander (personal) what highly sought after players are leaving GA?I believe we will see a good number of these UGA commits in the transfer portal within the next 2 yrs.
