'24 VA RB Peyton Lewis (Tennessee)

His HS team runs a I-formation with a FB. It looks like he is running against 9-man boxes and still getting yards. Might do really well in our offense against 5 or 6 man boxes.

Salem is a 5A VA school, but the level of competition looks a bit suspect. I would assume that the Roanoke/ Salem area is not nearly as talented as the Tidewater, Richmond, or suburban DC areas of VA. Still, good looking prospect.
Salem is 4A, but he would look dominant in any classification there.

Salem wins state titles almost every year

We usually have pretty good luck with VA prospects (Mayo, Hunter, Coleman Thomas, Darrell Taylor, Seldon). Both of the in-state schools are in shambles and there's no reason we shouldn't be able to get the best VA prospects. Might have to fight off Penn St, UNC, and Clemson, but should be able to beat them out.

I know Coleman and his Dad personally. Good people.

Beamer is living off two wins at the end of the season and ignoring how mediocre they looked in all his other games as the head coach. If they don't come out of the gates in 2023 looking good, then things are going to fall apart really quick around Beamer.

Those two wins were like super bowls to them. The best thing that's happened the last 5 years for their program.

I vote all 102,000 of us take turns punching him in the face on Sept 30

This kid is much more LaMarcus Coker than Arian Foster. Strictly talking about football ability. Appears to be much better than both from a character standpoint.
I'm hoping (and expecting) that Peyton Lewis will be FAR better than LaMarcus Coker.

One of the best we've ever had? No sir.
You don't think Coker had everything to be one of our greats??

I'm not saying he IS one of our greats; but, he ABSOLUTELY had the talent to be one. Same tale as so many others, unfortunately.

No. I don't. I think he was one of a number of overhyped players that we had around that time period.

Ok. I mean sure, if you think a 4.2 40, and 7 yards per touch, rushing, catching passes, kick returning is overhyped...knock yourself out.

Again...HAD the talent. Didn't reach the fullness of said talent. If you truly believe all the potential in the world wasn't there, you truly never saw him play.

Coker had the type of ability that made you hold your breath every time he touched the ball. If he had been willing to put in the work, instead of relying on natural ability, he without a doubt could have been one of the greats. Imagine Coker with Travis Stephens' drive and work ethic.
