'24 VA RB Peyton Lewis (Tennessee)

Going thru and watching all the top-rated RB recruits and just got to Peyton Lewis. Something I noticed on rewatch that we don't really talk about is his hands. He attacks the ball which usually indicates good receiving skills in a back. very effective on wheel routes with his speed. Also has good enough hands to be his teams returner in the special teams aspect of the game. With this kid's size, speed, cutting ability, and potential as a receiver, this kid could really turn into one of the top 3-down backs anywhere. Really liked this pickup when we got him and like it even more now!!

nice breakdown.

he's a boss for sure.

If you want to watch the difference in film...watch this guy's film verses Desean Bishop's. Bishop is great...Lewis is remarkable. It helps to put his speed in context.

Biggest Bishop supporter during recruitment last year, but it was his uncanny way of maximizing each carry with vision, judgement and toughness that got him his yardage. Reminds me of Emmet Smith dragging himself back to formation and doing it again and again. Hope he is better off RSing this year and filling void left by Small and possibly Wright. Lewis and Seldon and Sampson feature more speed. Love this room current and future.

Tennessee commit Peyton Lewis scored three touchdowns on the ground and added two more on special teams as Salem shut out Hidden Valley 51-0 on Friday night at Salem Stadium. Lewis finished with 112 yards on just eight carries and recorded an 82-yard kickoff return touchdown and a 50-yard punt return touchdown.

Let’s don’t sleep on this kid. I think He and Seldon are going to be a 1-2 punch that takes us to Championships.
I think many of our own fans on this site are sleeping on this recruiting class as a whole. We have low key gotten commitments from some really, really elite players.

We keep filling the cupboards with players like this and we will be sustaining winning football year in and year out -

I think that’s yet another significant difference between Heupel and his predecessors- his recruiting is actually gaining traction and momentum - look at the freaking list of ‘25 STUDS coming to the game tonight. I feel like at this point in Dooley, Butch, or Pruitt, the writing was on the wall and recruiting was starting to stagnate or tank.
