Took a lot of heat last year when I was the lead guy campaigning for the staff to find a way to get Bishop here as the slots narrowed down, so not claiming any impartiality here, but my hopes for him are NOW based on the positive vibes he was getting from his position coach at the time of his injury, EVEN in a crowded room.K. Read the same declarations about Jeremy Banks after he was switched to LB. Whatever one thought of him, he did some MEANINGFUL SNAPS. My opinion is based on him receiving a needed rest after being a heavy workhorse in high school. He’s every bit as good (or better) than Small…and he took hella MEANINGFUL SNAPS.
I thought he was a quality PWO pickup and then found out he came in with a scholarship. I didn’t have high expectations, but I remember those glowing reports and it really seemed he belongs.Took a lot of heat last year when I was the lead guy campaigning for the staff to find a way to get Bishop here as the slots narrowed down, so not claiming any impartiality here, but my hopes for him are NOW based on the positive vibes he was getting from his position coach at the time of his injury, EVEN in a crowded room.
Not sure what his on campus 40 times were or conditioning measurable strides, but he demonstrated a toughness and a lot of those intangibles that make backs productive. Avoding TFLs, always getting the extra yard, and protecting himself after getting big or needed yardage and heading back to the huddle. Always seemed to take the best line at the best time. I would think he would fill the Small slot if he moves on. So I am hoping I get to double down after spring.
Nah.We have a great room of young guys. How many yards/ tds/ snaps did that group have outside of Sampson? We might be more than good or even great. Sampson is proven, nobody else is. They’re likely not sniffing for a rb in the portal. But if there is an absolute stud like judkins, for example purposes only, would you want him?
