'24 VA RB Peyton Lewis (Tennessee)

With this RB's speed and size...

One game he will have 200 yds rushing, then the next game only 80--but, that game we'll have 500 yards passing.

DCs picking their poison will be harder than ever with a back who can break tackles and burn it to the end zone from any distance.

Had forgotten until looking at this kids recruiting profile on 247 that Montario Hardesty is the RB coach for USCjr. Makes sense they would hire him after how he roasted the chickens in 09

he was that entire offense, sans occasional Crompdiddlyompton deep pass

It will be interesting to watch him this season to see if he is more sudden and explosive. Right now, his play speed doesn't match his track speed. If that changes, he will be dangerous in college.

When he gets in the open field you see the speed. That offense they run at Salem makes him have to do a lot of hesitating waiting for the hole to develop.

He has long speed. It's his start/stop/start. Look at a guy like Jamyr Gibbs. He's able to take off like a Tesla. Some other guys have to build acceleration like their shifting gears. If this kid gets in the open field, they won't catch him, but he needs to be able to hit top speed quicker and also be able to turn it on if he has to hesitate or change directions on the field. I really like him as a prospect. I'm just commenting on what will take his game to the next level to potentially make him elite.

Is this a TN/SC battle?
Yes. The Virginia Tech fans here hate UT so bad and really hate he's in their backyard and have no shot at landing him. They all want SC to get him because of Beamer. And they swear he's an SC lock due to knowing Shane a long time. I'm hearing UT has put the full court press on and we are trending.
