It's really not. Most Tech fans east of Abingdon actually pull for Tennessee against the rest of the SEC. The only area with the "hate" is the areas the fans are about 50/50.

By and large their fanbase makes ours look like Roads

I was there too along with 60,000 UT fans and maybe 10,000 VT fans... It sucked

True. Another horrible hire by Whit Babcock, had a chance to go after a few bigger names, could have maybe gotten coach from Coastal. Should have called Shane Beamer. They claimed he wasn't ready for their big time job yet they go hire Brent Pry like who the hell is he?! How is he ready? They have no NIL whatsoever, the donors aren't giving, neither are hardly any of their NFL alumni. In State kids going everywhere else. Even UVa stinks.

70 kids from my class went to VT. Went there almost every weekend myself to see friends. All of them are completely checked out on football. Pry better come through this year or he’s losing the fanbase.

The fanbase is already done. They can't sell tickets at all. Fan apathy has set in. Recruiting was horrible and they again have no QB and no playmakers. Pry won't be here long.

It’s difficult to figure out how they are having recent recruiting success with all their negatives. Beamer, poor football history, never won anything in the SEC other than an SEC East under Spurrier. Beamer is so transparent.

Yeah they are in a poor spot, even if they find their Huepel he would end up jumping to a better spot after a while.
