Why?

Whats too far?
When you open a door everybody tries to come in.
don't think it's the taxpayers job to provide for somebody's vacation...

i do, however, think it's our job to provide a minimum safety net for those that work hard for not very much money. people taking advantage of it, sadly, is just part of it.

Knock your self out bro.

I have worked many kinds of jobs, ranging from 2$ an hour to 20$ an hr. Trashman, Farmer, Brick layer, Roofer, Fed Ex, currently a Land Surveyor.

As you can see, you do not need a college education to perform any of these jobs. And when I felt I was being taken advantage of, I looked for another job.

You don't believe that Obamacare has opened the door for this, any many other complaints? After a while Obamacare won't be good enough by itself, and such things as these will pop up.

At least this would make the lines at Social Security Administration offices shorter for a given week.

That's where most of these roaches to society hang out on a daily basis trying to get a check.

nope, i don't... medicare, social security were all considered socialist when they were created several decades ago. i've yet to see that escalate into paid vacation by the taxpayers.

Then you aren't looking. People now live much longer than they did then, yet social security still starts in one's early 60s. Help me understand that please, if you can quit whining for the poor who are forced to work for little wage.

I think that people of all kinds, rich or poor, black or white, are vital to this being the greatest nation on this planet. There's no one class that's more important than the other.

Takes all kinds of people to make the world go 'round.

Just an analogy, so don't take this too far.

If you feed a stray dog on your back porch long enough, sooner or late hes gonna want to come inside to boot.

It won't stop with Obamacare.

maybe you should quit whining for the rich and realize the poor are just as vital to this society.

The point is not slamming the poor, or whining for the rich.

Im neither. If a man wants to make a wealthy living for himself I have no reason to believe I should be given his wealth because Im not as successful.

Is being "fair" in a free country making everyone "equal"?

in terms of pay, nope... we can't all be equal and nor should we...

i have no problem with people getting rich. but doing it on the back of the poor is unethical to me.

I would argue that being a truly free country requires freedom from barriers to success, not necessarily assurance of that success. In fact, that was the premise of the rights outlined in the constitution. They do not guarantee access to those rights, but merely guarantee that their pusuit would be free from government intrusion. Unfortunately, people often get this idea confused with the desire for the government to put everyone on equal footing.
