Why is this argument going on? Recent polling says well over 80% of the American public now believe the vaccines are safe and effective.

Seems like this argument has moved on, except for the rt wing nuts.

This is the biggie for me. I mean, everyone in charge literally lied about it working, including Trump. It didn't- at any point. We had breakthrough cases immediately and saw no discernable difference in real-time in state data as the shot rolled out.

What was the point? Money and political clout. Many people stood to profit handsomely off vaccine sales, while others could say "Look what we did! We saved the world!"

The first 6 months of 2021, it worked largely as intended and the 2nd half of 2021, it worked somewhat as intended. I think Trump was truthful if he made those claims in 21.

Obviously, the virus has mutated several times since then and the vaccine hasn't kept up. If I was Trump, my talking points would be "I left you all a working vaccine but under the anti-business Biden Administration, it no longer works.

It's a little bit disingenuous but that would prevent him from flip flopping or doubling down on 23 data...

I bet a significant portion of those 81% of Americans who got 1 shot (either by choice or by force) don’t view the shot as “safe and effective”.

What if there are a handful of vaccines that aren’t what they are claimed to be on the package and are experiments? Test them in countries were there won’t be as much of a noticeable uproar.
