Considering we lost our best defensive player before the season, we're starting two freshmen at the linebacker spots, we've been down two starters since the season began and we just lost a third, we really could be worse than we currently are.

Did I say we were bad? No, we're mediocre. Vandy has a better defense than us though. We never get sacks, we never force TOs, we can't cover any above average receiver, we get killed by speed, and have no depth.

Yes, that is part of the issue. It changes nothing about our current situation though. Plus, their offense is almost equally anemic.

Vandy's two best defensive players are seniors. They are significantly better than anyone else they have. It will be interesting to see if they improve next year with those losses.

We are of course struggling on offense right now but I think if we can utilize our speed with Young and Neal coming out of the backfield we can cause some serious mismatches with Vandy. Vandy's LB are not very fast.

Completely true, my first point of attack against them would be our speed in open space. We'll see if Dooley decides to utilize our best offensive weapons by that point.
