That was during a ten year period of OU football that I've tried to erase from my memory. Arkansas and Texas are scheduled to play home and away. The idea of playing in Dallas only becomes relevant if OU-Texas gets moved. I'm sure the Dallas Chamber of Commerce would throw some serious money at the schools. Losing OU-Texas would be a jolt to the local economy.

I'm looking forward to Miami/Oklahoma in a couple of seasons.

Reminds me of an amazing fact. From 85-87, OU's record was 33-3. All 3 losses were to Miami.

Maybe they can get their revenge. I know Oklahoma is playing Notre Dame in 2013 and 2015. I think OU has a pretty ugly record against the Irish.

Notre Dame ended one of Bud Wilikinson's long winning streaks. They also beat the Sooners in the first season of the Stoops era.

Which of those Sooner teams did you think was the best, '85, '86, or '87?

I thought the '86 team was the most dominant, even though the '85 team has a NC ring.

Actually, I thought the '87 team was the best. If Jamelle Holieway and Lydell Carr hadn't been injured, I think they would have beaten Miami. The '86 team was better than the '85 team. Everything broke perfectly for that team to win it all. They were playing an inordinate number of freshmen and sophomores.

What about the Lil' 11, aka big 10, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota, Michigan State................

When I lived in Lexington, Kentucky, UK fans would always argue for Kentucky football joining the Lil'11 because Kentucky would then be able to compete in football.....................

I love UK fans.......
 Indiana and Illinois are bad but not Kentucky bad. I think the Cats would still be looking at 1-7/0-8 year in and year out in the Big Ten.

You obviously haven't seen Illinois play the last three years.

Kentucky is 10-5 against Indiana since 1990. Milo, you usually have a much better grasp of the facts.

If Georgia would go back to playing Clemson every year, I'd give them a pass on never traveling. Georgia Tech and Clemson are much tougher nonconference games than many in the SEC schedule.

Florida may get a similar pass for playing FSU every year. But, I don't think UF ever plays a non-conference away game other than FSU. That means that UF's coldest opponent is UK, and that game is in September, which means that the coldest game on UF's schedule is every other year on the first Saturday in November at Vanderbilt. The Gators have succeeded in keeping it warm!

They played at Miami a couple of years ago.

If you ever want to know what a game that "slipped through your fingers" was like, that was it.

Eh... I forgot Hal Mumme had the death grip on the Hoosiers.

As far as Illinois, at least they were all over the map under Ron Turner. Kentucky has had consistent suckitude lately with a mediocre season sprinkled in once or twice.

So did Guy Morriss.

No sweat. The OSU Buckeyes will mop up the Wolverines once again, other words, business as usual.Financially speaking, Vanderbilt made a good deal.
nah man...carr got rid of his terrible coaching staff and has brought in a new haul of players. Steve breaston is due for a breakout year. OSU will have exactly 0 defense to stop CHad Henne and Mike Hart (who is healthy this year i might add)

My wife was born & lived in Michigan in the Pontiac/Clarkston area 15 years.I will always respect that.Actually,I would rather the "Big Blue" mop up the field with OSU buckeyes.Michigan seems to play up and down the past several years.Either great or subpar.
