Vandy fans!

Clay Travis was trying to argue that Vanderbilt was now a top 25 job on the 3HL. I'll be happy about Jimmy Frank leaving if he takes that dumb *** tool with him.

Franklins not leaving. Vandy big money taking their swing today. He wouldn't meet with them if his mind is made. We gonna kick his azz for years to come.

Not to defend the tool, but the rationale they were using was that they had been in the Final Top 25 Poll the last 2 years. It was funny listening to them the last few days. None of them (even the UT fan Brent) want him to leave. They all admitted that because he is ratings gold in the Nashville market.

Listening to these Vandy fans this week has been super entertaining.

I'll be highly surprised. The bridge back to West End is on fire as we speak. I don't think either side wants to put the fire out.

Thread Title is an oxymoron imo

Good one!

This is an actual thread from VandyMania. They have been SUPER quick to turn on him over there.

4 Names - Who Do You Trust The Most -

Chris "The Bridge" Christie
James "VU For Life" Franklin
Nancy "Pass The Law - Then Read It" Pelosi
Alex "PED" Rodriguez

He's gone and has been gone for a few days. This just a game being played out by Vandy's AD in the media now.

That's the way i took it. David Williams mentioned it in his interview when comparing PSU to Vandy and said Vandy finished in the top 25 therefore Vandy in now a top 25 program.

I don't care what they are saying now. I honestly hopes he stays and gets stuck there for the rest of his career.
Vandy will continue to allow him to schedule 4 FCS OOC games and barely scrape into bowls. While we will continue to get stronger, the rest of the East won't always be down, especially playing against them and he will spend the next 4-5 years arguing why he's still good with only 6-6 records at best, getting stomped by us every year, and only beating bottom 25 teams.

Thats why I honestly hope he does stay cause he's primed to get exposed. He's had a very fortunate run at Vandy and his luck is just about used up. We're on our way back up, he won't get UGA and UF when they only have their 2-3 string players and his weak OOC schedule is gonna get alot more attention when thats the only games he's winning, especially if he catches one hyped up and they pull an epic upset on him.

Some of Franklin's assistant coaches have started following Penn State players on twitter and they're currently recruiting for Penn State. I'd have to imagine it's a done deal because it would be messed up to do that and then stay at Vanderbilt.

Supposedly a last chance offer coming this afternoon from Williams and John Ingram of over $5 million per year, to help him make up his mind

Two responses...

Sorry but at $5 million a year we can buy a much better coach. That is approaching Saban money.

You're kidding yourself if you think VU is gonna offer that kind of money to a 1st time candidat at VU. I wish they would. We could get a major coach with that money

:post-4-1090547912:

They think they can offer proven coaches at big time programs 5 million dollars and they'll come running. Newsflash... any coach worth 5 million dollars doesn't want to be at that crap factory. Those coaches would be getting 5 million from a program that doesn't suck ass.

Vandy's AD even declared he would be willing to shave his head if it would help Franklin remain in Nashville.

So... they are going to have a Franklin Look-alike contest to keep him.

$5 million a year? LOL. I thought Texas fans were bad, but at least that school has significant backing from their home State and a bunch of championships under their belt to flaunt. And even then, got turned down by several coaches before landing a good hire.

Anyway, loved this quote:

Does CJF get to meet with the team today after he takes the knife out of VCDW's back?

So somehow leaving for a historically prestigious job at Penn State is "stabbing" Vandy in the back. LOLOLOLOL

From the same thread:

5 mil a year being floated around by sources
Hot damn. That will get you a top notch coach, DC and Oc very quickly. That is elite level spending if true. I wonder if guys like Kliff Kingsbury might be interested in the position?
I'm good with Morris, Hudspeth and Mason but I think we will be very surprised by who all is interested in this job. Exciting!

Go Dores!

It is a signal to anyone that comes he and earns a raise. The money is there. The question is not whether you wish to coach a team, but rather do you want to change the culture. We need a person dedicated to changing the culture and not just for using us for career advancement.

They will be lining outside of VCDW's suite in Indy to chat if we are paying 3M plus and they can walk into an 8 win system assuming everything holds together.

Hop a flight to Palo Alto.

Wow $4.5 million, why not kick it up a couple of notches, pay the buyout for Saban and lets win a couple National Championships? I jest of course...no, but really....

Bob Stoops. He's dying to coach in the SEC and he's already beaten Saban...

So let's see...Saban, David Shaw, Bob Stoops, Kingsbury, Morris, Hudspeth and Mason (assuming Stanford's DC?) all in the same thread.

The phrase Vandy Fans is an oxymoron just like Military Intelligence. Maryville and Alcoa High School has more fans than Vanderbilt.
